COVERING THE BASES - SORTING OUT THE BEST PLAYING RULES

One of the cornerstones of the Joint Operating Agreement between LVSSA and SSUSA is an excellent set of rules that draw the best from both associations.

These rules will apply not only for the two Joint Venture events (the 2012 World Masters Championships and the Spring Classic Southwest Championships), but for all 60 SSUSA Qualifying and Championship – level tournaments.

The Joint Rules Committee did a masterful job of working for the greater good of the sport; practicing judicious compromise that tapped the best rules from each association.

The committee includes Dave Dowell for SSUSA and Dave Barnes and Al Vera for LVSSA.

The committee basically adopted the LVSSA rules for the Major-Plus and the SSUSA rules for the other divisions.

However, the home run “outs” were dropped for all except the AA division and the snowbird exemptions were dropped for Major-Plus.
