April 12, 2013 Freddie	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Southwest Championships, Vegas need to be patient session 1 always goes 1st, 65 & over. They play Tues-Thur, just think when we move up to 65 we will play during the week and the hotels rates won't go up since they don't play on the weekend. I counted 13 AAA teams which so make our division strong.
Oct. 13, 2012 Freddie	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: AAA Home Runs I've been with SSUSA for the last 10 years & we have always played AAA. With the new rule change this year, I have never seen teams from top to bottom that could hit so many h/r's. AAA use to be for teams that did not belong in AA because they were better fielders and base hitters, very seldom did you see a team hit their limit of 3. In Vegas, the teams in 60 AAA that were hitting more than 3 h/r's could of been contenders to win the Majors because they played good defense & had 5-6 players that could hit the long ball. In my 10 yrs, we all had the same weather conditions, used the same balls & bats & I never have seen the loopsided advantage that the new rule brought to AAA.

Feb. 22, 2012 Freddie	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: ssusa & umpires, u make the call Umpires thank you for your response. Let me make it simple for some of you. We are playing in the World in Vegas this year. The player goes in to play defense, is not in the batting order & does not report to the umpire & plays another position other than pitcher. The pitcher is scheduled to bat 3rd in the following inning & he bats for the pitcher. Nobody on & gets a hit, what's the call & what happens to the position player the player went in for? Batting 12 players.

Dec. 22, 2011 Freddie	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Seeding for the Worlds Nice thought, but you're trying to combine 2 tournaments into 1. Those that can afford to make the 3 tournaments to qualify for the honor of playing for the U S National & bragging rights, God bless you. The World is the World, teams from all over the country are trying to be the best team in the World. Why should anyone have an advantage over the rest of the teams. How many times have the East & West Champions won the World? Leave the 2 tournaments alone & it is really nice when we can say we beat the W/E Champions in the World. Oct. 15, 2011 Freddie	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: PHX tournament brackets Gary, you forgot to mention Southwest Championship in Laughlin, I know I would remember who beat me for the Championship. CJ's came from the losers bracket winnig games by 1 run to make it to the championship. Mark, I agree with you, the team that gets hot & stays hot will win this tournament. I wish that Senior Softball would keep track of the H/Rs that are hit. Championships in AAA are won by base hits & defense, don't let H/Rs take the fun out of the game. ShaneV, I like the order you have the 22 teams, as long as we finish 1st, let the rest fight it out. AGAVE

Sept. 30, 2011 Freddie	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: qualiying team doesn't go to Worlds Mark, in order to play in the World, the player has to be on the qualifying roster that the coach turns in to S/S. I talked to Tony & he could not make it to Phoenix this weekend for the Last Qualifier, which will be the roster that we will use for the World. C U in PHNX. Freddie

Sept. 26, 2011 Freddie	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Changes to the HR Rule - needs more thought We have been playing 55 AAA for the last 4 years & have not run across many teams @ the World that would us their 3 h/r's. The game is won by base hits & defense. By changing the rule, it's going to invite the major players to move down & change the game. If you want the homeruns play major & higher & leave the teams that play good offense & defense alone. SSUSA if you change the rule, you need to start keeping track on how many balls are going over the fence so they can be moved up because they do not belong in AAA. Agave
