Discussion: Rip It senior bat ???

Any news on a new senior bat from Rip It ? Have not heard much about them for awhile. I know they are really into fastptich and baseball but was hoping they would have had a bat like the yellow one but legal for SSUSA.

Not a great bat. Just ok and some of my team have the same problem with the break in.

Sorry guys, I just found out. There is a gag order for now. I guess it is really a big deal and I did not understand that part. The factory guy I can talk about when he gives me the green light. Again I am sorry for posting what I should not have.

Not only shaved bats but ASA, USSSA, 1.20, it is just getting to hard to keep track of what is what. I think they want to keep it simple. Montana simple as they say.

Our league is thinking of moving to metal bats only to handle the confussion and concerns of composite bats.
Is this a wise move or an over reaction ?

Discussion: Comosite bat ban for mid 2008 ?

Sounds like this new rule might kill ASA in senior softball. Or maybe it is for the good. Not sure since I do not know what a 02mph bat will do.

I am confussed. Is ASA banning all current composite bats or do the bat companies just have to stop making composite bat or do the companies have to stop making all current production bats ?

I think Bill is working on a hitting dvd for spring. Based on my time around Bill on the field I am sure this dvd should be very good. I am not 100% on this so I hope not throwing him under the bus.

Discussion: Hit the new Rip It senior bat

I was invited by a friend to hit a prototype of the new Rip It senior bat. Did not have any paint or markings on it and no grip either. Have to say it was a little strange hitting without paint but the bat was great. Felt just like the yellow bat, nice swing and performance. We put a about 200 hits on it with no sign of cracking. We put some athletic tape on for a grip which helped. Bat hit as far as a U2 and as I said before felt just like the yellow bat. Hope I am not letting the cat out of the bag but I we really liked it.

I am not sure about all this CE stuff. Heard from a friend that knows a guy that has an uncle that knows the wife of a guy that there is a big change around the bend. This change will have a major impact on the senior bat market.

So if not Miken than who ?
I heard the new Miken is a U2 with a warranty for $299 or with without for $199. Wow what a deal ! We may be old but not dumb. Sounds like somthing a used car dealer would pull.

Discussion: BREAK in PERIODS & "BEST' BATS!!

A team member has the AV and we talked about that today. It seems to break in very fast maybe 50 hits or so. We all liked the bat very much and enjoyed the pop and swing until we switched to the new bat which has more pop and a better swing at least for us. The Reaper started to hit better at 80 or so hits. Hard to tell since some of the guys are hitting well right out of the wrapper while other notice a break in. As you can tell we are not very smart in this bat thing. We do like the Reaper more than any of the other bats but I know this does not answer your question. We can tell you it takes at least three beers to break us in. :)
