I think we are here to play, have fun, win and mabye make some friends. I have played with and against Einstein. Sure he has his opinions just like everyone else, and not everyone agrees with them. So What!. Joe has always been the most friendly to everyone regardless of what division your in, fair, and a great player. Not sure If I know Garyc. sounds like he is passionate about softball just like the rest of us. In the spirit of sports , lets put bickering to rest and play. Remember we are 50+ yr old adults, lets act like it. |

It seems that the main concern is lawsuits.I have been in many local leagues where you sign a waiver. However there were still lawsuits, mainly because that person made a mistake or error and did not want to accept responsibility for their actions. Should senior softball also tell an out of shape player they should not run the bases because they might have a heart attack? Or outfielders not to chase a ball in the gap because they might collide with ech other? Its endless. A good lawyer will no matter what waiver is in place will file a lawsuit. Please accept responsibility for your actions. Hope you dont get hurt, if you do, deal with it. |

Everybody has the option of wearing any protective gear they want. Well, wear it or dont wear it. Wear a hockey mask, football helmet, bike helmet etc. or dont. We are so called seniors and most of us have played for years and know the ricks involved. I pitch, wear shin guards, cup and an ugly face to scare the balls away. Doesnt work sometimes. If i want to upgrade to face gear I will. I dont need a mommy to tell me what to do or how to do it. Lets play. We only got a few good years left |

| Nov. 25, 2008 sierahiker44 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Winter Worlds As we all know,we have seen many injuries over the years, muscle pulls and tears, players colliding, sliding , bad hops, wet grass etc. This is a sport that injuries happen in. What are we going to do? Put cages around every player in the field, padding on every player, or what. We know the risks, If you arent willing to take them, dont play. If your scared of the ball, play a different position, hit only or quit. Have fun |

Now I pitch in 55 majors, as a pitcher i expect balls to come up the middle, its part of the playing field. I expect to get hit if Im not fast enough to stop or deflect the ball. Its p[art of the game. You wont see me complaining about it. I wear shin guards and a cup. Mabye Ill get some face protection if I feel I need it. I dont think anybody is out to hurt anybody. So bring it, mabye Ill get you out , or mabye you"ll get a hit. Its all part of the fun |

Im a pitcher and I can not believe how many times a batter will just sit there and take strikes or look at a pitch that hits an inch away from the plate to take a walk. Its slow pitch. Did you spend money to sit there andlook at good pitches. Its a hitters game 6"-12' Meatball city. |

We are just a group of guys that have played with and against each other since the 70s in the santa cruz rec leagues. I dont speak for everyone on the team , just a concerened player. This is our 2nd year in 55s after 5 years in 50s. We did have a great year last year . National champs, western states champs, toc champs, 2nd cal cup 3 in the worlds ,and speaking for my self thought we would be moved to majors after the toc , which like I said have no problem with.,, I was just wondering how things worked and thought that moving teams in the middle of the year a little strange. And by the way. , no worries, we dont aim at players, were here for fun and just glad that we are playing decent ball at this age. |

They earned a chance to play syracusr Merchants eastern champs for the national title. No dice was moved up to majors after the western nationals. No dice was told that they would not be playing for the national title because they were moved up to majors. No dice has been informed that they will be declared national champs without playing any game and can order rings, Meanwhile the runner up for the westerns Over the Edge will be playing the title game. Question, has any other team ever been declared a national champ in this way? Im confused . What title does No Dice win. |

No Dice western states champs has been denied playing for the 55AAA national title against syracuse merchants 55AAAeastern champs because they have been moved to majors after the western nationals. The runnerup team from the west Over the Edge has been selected to play for the National championship. BUT NO Dice has been informed they will be a national champ and we can order our rings. Has any other team out there been denied a title game and been told they have been declared champions and can order their rings without playing a game? |

We have been told that since we have won the western nationals, a five team tourney.[the only tourney we have won this year] That we have been moved up to majors. We have no problem playing in 55 Majors its just that since we won the 55AAA western nationals and you have won the 55AAA eastern nationals we should play each other for the title. Well we wont get the chance because of a decision from the top of SSUSA. The runner up is a fine team and should give you a good game. We just feel we have been burned. We played you in the TOC 3 times. last year. Your a great team and we will miss playing you. Good Luck. |
