These shots are like Synvisc shots.I have had them a few times in the past & did nothing for me. If you have no catilage in the knee no shots will help! If anyone out there knows of some miracle without having a knee replacement when you have no cartilage I would like to know ! Happy Veterans Day to all ! |

| Dec. 23, 2018 ocden | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Knee replacement vs. Stem Cell Therapy Beejay,there's several factors to consider.First your age & all what the MRI revealed,how bad are your knees. Also if your doc says TKR, you might want a second opinion.I got one,if the're to shot then about the only thing is replacement which sucks! One of my knees finally took a dump & my ortho said I need a replacement.Some guys recover within a yr. & others like me still have a pain yr&half. It all varies on the individual. As for the stem cell therapy it hasn't really been proven to be effective!Also I might mention I tried another procedure that was told to me & it didn't do nothing,like the doctor told me I was wasting my time! |

They called wanted me to play TOC in Fla. as well! Too far ! Yep you played 2nd & i played of. Big decision on the knee ? I have to have the other done as well! |

In Jan i went for subchondroplasty & the doctor said he only gave me a 20% chance of working & i went for it anyway. He was right it didn't work! My opinion is,it is a very temporary fix! Oh, had TKR done in May & still going thru recovery! |

It's have worked for me & others people i suggested it to. Try and get some acupuncture treatments & most ins co.are now covering it. Try to find a chinese or taiwanese doctor. I did this & it was the best thing i could've done for myself! I will say it's not a permanent fix but it helped for 3 1/2 yrs & then had a couple more treatments & been fine since. Even my chiropractor said acupuncture is good! It's better then having surgery which doesn't help most of the time! |

| April 4, 2017 ocden | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Knee replacement Thks for the info,to clarify my doc is a sports med. I've known him for over 30 yrs,did my 1st scope in 86. He just said i shouldn't run or jump on it so i would have a longer longevity on it. Yes the nights suck trying to sleep with pain,s changes. Mannjo i did the accu-fill in Jan.on my left knee against my other doctors wishes who does this kind of surgery still doing therapy on it. He also said my knee was shot. I was out of town & just bending over when my right knee just popped a couple loud pops knocked me on my azz where i couldn't get up & had to go to emergency from the pain,it was worse then when i had the accu-fill surgery. I have heard about the synthetic ankle surgery in the US,but the knee hasn't been approved here yet! Also know the rehab is very important. Well i appreciate all the input from everyone so far ! |

I have ran out of temporary fixes & scheduled to have a replacement. Before i played alot of outfield & my doctor said no more running? Any suggestions or advice ? |

Also remember every time you go under the knife with anesthesia if effects your whole body as well as your brain (dementia)! I have been putting off knee replacement for several yrs till finally i have to have it. I've run out of temporary fixes! |

Therefore i've been looking at other solutions. I suppose this is a fairly new procedure.Probably my ins.won't cover it. Where are u located ? |
