Discussion: League play HR rule

Just curious, how many of us have HR rules in local league play and what are they?

We have proposals for 3 per team then outs and 3 per team and a single for all other. Also the option of unlimited.

Discussion: Out of the box idea for "courtesy runners"

A unique, serious unemotional idea on “courtesy runners”?

How about all players needing “courtesy runners” are designated before the game. Each individual requiring a “courtesy runner” shall be assigned a permanent runner BEFORE THE GAME.

Each assigned "courtesy runner" may be assigned to only one person in the lineup.

An assigned “courtesy runner” may NOT be used as a pinch runner for any other base-runner.

A player could only pinch run once per game.

(If you used a “rabbit” as a “courtesy runner”, he/she would be unable to pinch run in a crucial situation.)

If a player is injured during a game and unable to run, he/she may be assigned a "courtesy runner" for the remainder of the game or a new pinch runner each at bat.

This would keep the original purpose of the "courtesy runner" rule as well as negating overuse of the rule and, as importantly, the overuse of "rabbits" every inning. Managers would need to strategically set batting line-ups and decide whether to save their fastest runners for true crucial pinch running situations.

Thoughts?
