Hey Joe you criminal/molester/anima yourself! LOL

Hey I saw just this past weekend Rusty, JC Phelps and Brett Helmer up here @ Russell Road with the Barista gals and I'll say that Brett is very close in distance to our idol the Bogie-mister. Brett hit one the adjacent field to the one we were trying to hit the roof of the Ice Center that cleared the batting cages.....WOW!!!

Discussion: NEED 60'S MAJOR PLUS PLAYERS NOW!

Looking for immediate help with our 60’s Major Plus roster that has been decimated with injuries to finish out our 2008 commitments and to field a full team for next season. Need 2 or 3 guys at a minimum right away that want to play on a Major Plus Senior Softball team, 60’s division, located in the Pacific Northwest region.

Skills:
Must be able to run for yourself, preferably good base running speed and defensive skills. No DH’s or catchers need apply, we have plenty. Either infielders or outfielders or pitchers are welcomed as we can move people around for the best fit.

Should be able to hit for good average, say above the .650 mark and .700 would be ideal. Also must have some semblance of reasonable power is required but you don’t have to be a bomb squad guy by any means.

Some nominal monetary help is provided by our sponser to players for each of the 5 or 6 major tournament trips to far away venues requiring air travel.

Discussion: who's going to Salt Lake City

I can report that our Ruth 60's Major Plus team, which is currently rittled with some major injuries, voted yesterday in Portland to pass on the Salt Lake trip; much to our dismay.

Discussion: Popular tv series from 1948 to 1979 reaches 185.

Joe (einstein) I’ll see you in the Great Salt Lake for the Western Nationals I hope as Ruth 60's are not going to SPA this year! The barista gals @ the local espresso stand still keep asking me when you’ll be back in town again in Kent, WA and I don’t know why?

Hey HTG! I've added the Bev to my list!
Thanks,
Bashbro1

LITB TV Series actual dialogs:
1. “Ward! Weren’t you a little HARD ON the Beaver last night”?…said June Sunday morning?
2. “Wow Ward, you really gave the Beaver a real good lickin’ last night”…says June to Ward.

Taken from TV Acres on the Internet:
"Beaver" Cleaver - The family nickname of Theodore Cleaver (Jerry Mathers) on the sitcom LEAVE IT TO BEAVER/CBS/ABC/1957-63 and the sequel series STILL THE BEAVER/DIS/1983-85 and THE NEW LEAVE IT TO BEAVER/TBS/1986-89. When Theodore was born, his brother, Wally (Tony Dow) tried to pronounce his new brother's name but ended up mouthing "Tweeter" which sounded like "Beaver" to his parents, Ward (Hugh Beaumont) & June (Barbara Billingsley) and so began the saga of Beaver Cleaver and the jokes about his name. Beaver's real name, Theodore was based on June's Aunt Martha's brother. Eddie Haskell (Ken Osmond), a wisecracking, insincere friend of teenager Wally Cleaver who called Beaver "Squirt" and "Creep" would greet him with taunts like "Hiya Beaver, you gnaw down any trees today?" Beaver's brother Wally often said the phrase "Boy, Beaver, are gonna get it." During a 1995 episode of the sitcom ROSEANNE/ABC/1988-97 which gathered together many of the famous TV family mother characters, Roseanne Conner (Roseanne Barr) sarcastically responded to June Cleaver's (Barbara Billingsley) criticism of her parental skills by saying "Yeah, well at least I didn't name my kid, Beaver!"

TRIVIA NOTE: The nickname "Beaver" was inspired by the toothy smile of the Indian character "Little Beaver" in the western adventure serial RED RYDER/SYN/1956. When series star Gerald "Jerry" Patrick Mathers (a.k.a. the "Beaver") was in high school, he teamed up with former cast member Richard Correll (who played Richard Rickover) to form a rock and roll band. They called themselves "Beaver and the Trappers" and recorded the single "Happiness Is Havin'" (White Cliff Records). Jerry Mathers also recorded "Wind Up Toy" (Atlantic Records). And TV rerun fanatics from the Huron High School intramural softball team in Michigan named themselves "The Almighty Beavers." Their team motto was "We don't care." In May 1982 when Hugh Beaumont died (the Beaver's TV father), the team wore black armbands in mourning. (TV Guide 6/18/83). The series title LEAVE IT TO BEAVER was probably inspired by a previous sitcom called LEAVE IT TO LARRY/CBS/1952 starring Eddie Albert

I would say a Cather with great hands and an exceptional arm is what makes a great senior softball team, along with of course a great P, SS, and LCF.

Bashbro1 appreciates the additional input from all you senior softball players that has allowed me to extend my list of tv series I watched growing up in the Seattle area from 1948 when we got our first tv (age 3) until 1979 when I was all growed-up @ the ripe old age of 34 years.

My parents didn’t want me to watch much tv as a kid, howeverI did manage to tune-in to the list displayed below and missing very few episodes if I may say so.
