Dec. 6, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: prayers for T Rex's (Terrell Stokes) wife, Becky. Terrell and Becky have been together for over 40 years. Very seldom do you see T-Rex at a tournament without Ms Becky by his side. These two are the ultimate team. Please pray for these two wonderful people as they face this most challenging time. |
Sept. 17, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Prayers for Wayne Henck and family Just received word that Wayne passed away last night. Wayne was truly one of the Great Guys who always had a smile on his face and was a pleasure to hang out with. May God Bless Wayne's family during this most trying time. Gonna miss you Big Fella |
Sept. 3, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Using one ball for all games SSUSA Staff So are you saying, even though it seems the majority does not like the Trump Stote ball especially in hot weather, that this will remain your official ball for next season and beyond? |
Aug. 31, 2015 Perl | Topic: Women's softball Discussion: Looking For a Team....45+ Is this April 1st |
Aug. 28, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Prayers for Wayne Henck and family Wayne is such a good man. It's always a joy to see him at the ballpark. He loves the game and plays the right way, with class. Prayers sent for Wayne and his family. |
Aug. 20, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Using one ball for all games Why not come out with a list of approved balls and have teams hit their own ball? That way the organizers wouldn't to supply/chase balls and teams could hit the "APPROVED" ball they prefer. My bet is nobody would hit the trump stote, especially in hot weather. |
Aug. 13, 2015 Perl | Topic: Teams looking for players Discussion: Looking for a Pitcher and outfielder for next Year Big E, good luck on finding the missing pieces you need. This is one of the best dudes in softball right here. |
Aug. 6, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Friend Brad, thanks for the kind words. Look forward to seeing you and the rest of MLM in Dalton. Your swing is money bro, no doubt about that. Keep busting it, just not against us. |
Aug. 6, 2015 Perl | Topic: Teams looking for players Discussion: North Georgia Outlaws Many of my team mates don't visit this site. I just sent them the phone number and let them know you need a couple for Birmingham. Unfortunately our team, Affinity Elevators, couldn't make this tournament. Hope you get enough to play. |
Aug. 6, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Religious ceremonies at tournaments As a guy who often prays after games I am honored and humbled to share my faith with fellow softball players. I respect those who may not believe and don't want to participate. Passing judgement on anyone is way above my pay grade. I love being a witness as well as hearing others do the same. |
July 22, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Religious ceremonies at tournaments Alan, which bat are you testing, balanced or one of the end loads? |
June 29, 2015 Perl | Topic: Bats Discussion: Swing Weight: Miken Big Cat vs Dudley EL 13 I have had 3 Big Cats and currently have 3 of the 12" Dudleys. The Big Cats have great performance but I've never gotten over 200 cuts one on. Miken was kind enough to replace one that busted. The Dudley has less pop,IMO, but the durability is fantastic. If you swing a 27oz Big Cat I'd go with the 27oz Lightning even though it will feel lighter than the Miken. |
June 8, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Best ball in Hot Weather Living in Florida we have both high temps and humidity. My personal preferences would be 1. Baden Fire Ball 2. Rock 3. Bullet 4. Tattoo All four perform well in the heat and are very durable. |
June 3, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Old stories of bat doctoring One of my team mates had a bat that had 2" added. He sold the bat to another buddy of ours. We were playing in the Mullet and the guy who bought the bat gets up and hits a HR. We called him on it and he was called out. Funny now, not so funny back then. Another team mate experimented with adding foam insulation, tennis balls and super balls to his bats. Nothing seemed to enhance performance that was noticeable. |
May 12, 2015 Perl | Topic: Product review Discussion: Jackslapp? Google Whip Strip Baseball and it will take you to a site with video and purchase directions. The Whip Strip and the Jack Slap are two totally different items. For info on the Jack Slap visit seniorsoftballbatreviews.com |
April 16, 2015 Perl | Topic: Product review Discussion: Jackslapp? Alan With all the bat testing you do have you ever considered posting some videos. What would be interesting is comparing multiple bats at one time Versus testing one baT. |
April 6, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Perl and the guys from Pensacola Ron We still have practice games at Exchange Park every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning. BP starts at 9:00 and games start at 10:00. The Tournament is 5/14 thru 5/17 so if any 65 or 70 teams needs a player contact Ron. Chances are, because of the tournament, practice games may be at Lyons Park. |
March 9, 2015 Perl | Topic: Bats Discussion: Dudley Lighning 12 inch senior bat. Swing, I know a few of the guys posting here, Lefty, BruceinGa, jah#4 and Tri18. All four are very capable of hitting 300 ft + shots 4 out of 10 times hitting 44/375 balls with most, if not all, senior bats. |
March 9, 2015 Perl | Topic: Bats Discussion: Dudley Lighning 12 inch senior bat. Joe I had a 12" with approximately 1500 cuts that busted. I hit the bat in a few games when the temp was below 65, not real smart. Two guys I hit BP with have bats with around 2000 hits on them and they both hit it harder than I do. Definitely great bats. |
March 3, 2015 Perl | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Tribute to one of the best!!! The last time I saw Craig was at the Bowlegs in 2000. He was playing with his son John and they were both hitting it. Craig was pitching, talking trash and at 47 still playing at the highest level. Hard to believe both Craig and his son have passed. Definitely one of the best of all time. RIP. |
