Bogie,
Another exceptional Swing-Makeover series. Great job by Brett explaining this very important concept that a lot of players misunderstand.
Great episode!

Discussion: Major++++

Many teams believe the difference in Major and Major Plus is Power but as we age we see less home runs. The quality of the overall hitting is still prevalent in all levels. Defense, speed, depth and arm strength does vary by each team.
The problem as I see it is the challenge to see how other very good Major Plus teams can justify taking the 5 runs.
Larry,
I never thought I would see where this type of an adjustment would be made my making a very unusual additional division in an attempt to level out the playing field. We still have the dwindling numbers of Major Plus teams in 65 and above.

We will play within the rules and give it our best effort even if it requires giving 5 runs to a strong 65 Major Plus team. Like Doak, don't ask us to ever take the runs, won't happen!

I understand we have a problem just not convinced this is the solution.

Nancy,
The move from Major to Major Plus isn't easy and some rule changes should probably be made to make that transformation easier for them. However, penalizing another Major Plus team doesn't make a lot of sense. Lower level or new unproven Major plus teams probably should take the runs as you suggested. Higher level, well not something I would want a team of mine to do.

Bogey,
Great video not only because you helped out a Vet but how you did it. Great illustration of how you walk through your process with individual and design a plan for each person. In this situation just a tremendous jump in performance. Great drills and process.

Ken was an icon in our sport. Plus he was a class act and he will be missed by not only his players but the players who played against his teams.
Rest in Peace!

Ozone8,
All I need is 10-15 players to sign up for the clinic and I would be happy to come to Albuquerque. Maybe I can get Webbie to help out, he has attended a Hitting Clinic and was very happy with the results.
Just go to SliAcademy.com and sign up for a potential clinic.
Thanks and feel free to call with any questions. We really have seen some amazing results with all levels of players.

Discussion: Senior Ball Exit Speeds & Lawrence Reedus on Pitching Strategy SM#73

Bogie,
We are running around 60-95, with most of the players around 75-82. Few lower numbers but almost all get above the 60 level at least. Highest senior is 95.

Discussion: Power fading

Ron,
No doubt most of us see power decline as we get older, however, with better swing mechanics and a few adjustments you should be able to maintain fairly close to the power that you had before. It will be great to speak with you in Reno and catch up with you.

This is a great drill if you have a tendency to loop your swing or drop your hands. Tried it out yesterday in a hitting clinic and the results were amazing!!
