4 years !!! I'm happy as a clam to get 4 months out of a bat! Got spoiled when I was younger and didn't have to pay for most of my bats. Just another reason it sucks to get old....lol.

Slap Hitter - i'm sure he would drag any team down a level (or two) just by showing up. I broke the first Miken senior bat i bought in 40 swings. broke the senior freak black in under 100. still didn't bad mouth miken. just went out to find a better alternative. found dudley and have used them for the last year. Bought a new miken two weeks ago because they seem to have figured out the durability issue. I just don't understand the whiny butt attitude from a grown man.....

Gee Tim, is there anyone or any company in senior softball that hasn't slighted, offended, given you a raw deal, or hurt your little girly man sensibilities in some way ??? You need to find another sport. May I suggest hopscotch. Perhaps tiddlywinks??

AS A DEVOTED USER OF DUDLEY BATS IT PAINS ME TO SAY THIS.....LOL! THE MIKEN

ULTRA 2 BLACK I JUST GOT FROM ALAN IS THE BEST BAT I HAVE EVER HIT. DONT THINK

ITS REALLY ANY HOTTER THAN THE DUDLYS, BUT RIGHT OUT OF THE WRAPPER I WAS

HITTING BALLS AS FAR AS EITHER THE 12" OR 13" DUDLYS I HAVE WITH 500 SWINGS ON

THEM. THE SWEET SPOT SEEMED TO BE A BIT LARGER AND MORE FORGIVING THAN THE

DUDLYS. THE SWING WEIGHT WAS SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM. HIT BALLS

TODAY AT DIAMOND PLEX HERE IN WINTER HAVEN (FIELD C TO THOSE OF YOU FAMILIAR)

WIND BLOWING STRAIGHT IN AT 15+ MPH. HIT 40+ OUT OF 100 OUT. 25 WITH THE MIKEN

STRAIGHT OUT OF THE WRAPPER. THE ONLY QUESTION I HAVE NOW IS THE DURABILITY.

IF IT COMES EVEN CLOSE TO THE DUDLYS ( I GET ABOUT 800+- SWINGS OUT OF THE

DUDLEYS), MIKEN HAS A REAL WINNER ON THIER HANDS.

HEMI- DONT KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER ME FROM THE FIRST CAMP ALAN HAD, BUT I CAN VOUCH FOR THE BALLS ABILITY TO RESIST HEAT DEGRADATION. USED THEM IN ALANS ONE DAY TOURNEY RIGHT BEFORE VEGAS. TEMPS WERE A STEAMY 90+ DEGREES AND THE BALL WAS STILL JUMPING. HIT TWO OUT STRAIGHT INTO THE 15 MPH WIND BLOWING THAT DAY, AND DURN NEAR HIT ONE OUT OF THE BASEBALL FIELD RIGHT AT 390'. I BOUGHT 2 DOZEN JUST FOR ME TO HIT AND AM WORKING ON OUR LOCAL LEAGUE TO GET THEM FOR THE NEXT YEAR. WINTER TIME DOWN HERE IS PERFECT HITTING WEATHER BUT AS YOU KNOW 90 DEGREES WITH 90 % HUMIDITY MAKES FOR SOME "SACKS OF SNOT" WITH THE STANDARD TRUMP STOTE.

GOOD TO SEE "MIGHTY MIKE" BACK IN ACTION. MIKE, YOU HIT PROBABLY THE LONGEST BALL I'VE EVER SAW WITH THE OLD

CU-31 TECHNOLOGY. IT WAS AT RUMPKE PARK ON THE DIAMOND WITH 128 CIRCLING THE OUTFIELD. A RIGHT CENTER FIELD

SHOT THAT CLEARED THE HIGHWAY AND LANDED IN THE PARKING LOT (CORNFIELD) ACROSS THE STREET (500' +-). ANOTHER

MEMORABLE SHOT I WITNESSED WAS AT THE USSSA WORLDS AT THE FREDRICK KEYS STADIUM IN MARYLAND. YOU RIPPED A

LINE DRIVE DOWN THE LINE THAT THE FIRST BASEMAN MADE A MOVE TOWARDS (MORE LIKE A FLINCH) LIKE HE HAD A SHOT AT

IT. THE BALL DARN NEAR PUT A HOLE IN THE PLYWOOD ADVERTISING WALL BEHIND THE FENCE. GLAD I DONT PITCH ANY MORE

WITH YOU ON THE WAY BACK.....LOL! FROM WHAT I SAW ON THE VIDEO MIKE, TWO THINGS, LEG WORK AND DIET BIG MAN. WE

ALL WANT YOU AROUND FOR A LONG TIME TO COME. LAST NOTE ON THE SHOES. MY SON IS 6'8" WITH A SIZE 16 E AND CAN

ORDER JUST ABOUT ANYTHING HE WANTS OFF OF ZAPPOS WEB SITE. KEEP BOMBING BIG MIKE! P.S. IS KORDO PLAYING

SENIOR BALL AT ALL YET?

Discussion: Has anyone had L5 spinal fusion and returned to good playing form?

HI BOGIE, I MET YOU AT WOODLAWN A COUPLE OF MONTHS BACK AND WE TALKED ABOUT THIS VERY THING. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH

ON THIS AS I HAVE HAD TWO PREVIOUS SURGERIES ON L-4, L-5. THE FOLLOWING WEB ADDRESS IS THE PLACE THAT I HAD CONSIDERED

LOOKING INTO FOR A PROSTHETIC DISC REPLACEMENT SURGERY. http://www.germanspinespecialists.com/index.html THIS TYPE OF SURGERY

IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE COMMONPLACE IN THE U.S. BUT DUE TOO THE DEAR OLD F.D.A., SOME OF THE BEST TECHNOLOGY IS NOT YET

AVAILABLE IN THE STATES. (STILL MIRED IN FDA TRIALS) I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HOLD OFF FOR NOW, BUT IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS IT

WILL BE NECESSARY FOR ME TO DO THIS. I WISH YOU WELL IN WHATEVER CHOICE YOU MAKE. I KNOW FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WHAT A

ROYAL PAIN IN THE ARSE LOWER BACK TROUBLE CAN BE!! STAY CONNECTED!! (ESPECIALLY IN YOUR LOWER BACK!)

THE BALLS IN VEGAS WERE FUN TO HIT. ANY BALL WOULD BE FUN TO HIT OUT THERE. DURING B.P. WE WERE HITTING TRUMP

STOTES AND THEY WERE HARD TO KEEP IN THE YARD. THE TEMPS WERE RIGHT AT 100 THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE OUT THERE

(55 MAJOR) AND I DONT THINK YOU COULD WRAP UP SOME SOCKS WITH DUCT TAPE AND KEEP FROM HITTING IT OUT. FOR US

"LUCKY" ENOUGH TO LIVE HERE IN FLORIDA, THE GOOD HITTING SEASON IS ALMOST UPON US. NO MORE 95 DEGREES WITH

90% HUMIDITY. AS TO "FAIR BALLS" I AM GOING TO PUT IN A GOOD WORD FOR THE BALLS ALAN TANNER USED IN HIS ONE DAY

TOURNAMENT RIGHT BEFORE VEGAS. HITTING THOSE BALLS IN 90 DEGREE HEAT, HIGH HUMIDITY, AND A LOT OF WIND RIGHT

AT SEA LEVEL, THEY HELD UP EXTREMELY WELL. THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY A TRUE 44-375 WITH THE MICROCELL COVER TO

HELP WITH THE HEAT DEGRADATION PROBLEM. NOT A CHEATER BALL WITH TWO LAYERS AND SOFT STUFF TO FOOL THE

COMPRESSION TESTING EQUIPMENT. THEY DEFINATELY FEEL DIFFERENT THAN THE "ROCK". (READ NO SQUISHINESS )

WHEN I SAY THEY "HIT WELL", I MEAN I HIT ONE OFF OF THE LEFT CENTER FIELD WALL ON THE BACK BASEBALL DIAMOND AT

ABOUT 385, AND DIDNT GET ALL OF IT. WITH THE NEW TECHNOLOGY DRIVING THE PRODUCTS IN OUR SPORT, THIS BALL

(OR ONE LIKE IT) SEEMS TO ME TO BE THE ANSWER. JUST MY TWO CENTS WORTH.

Discussion: What About The Miken Freak Black Senior?

Have had all of them and I would get the new 2016 big cat over any of the mentioned bats. Last years big cat took about 50 swings to blow up. Freak senior took just under 100 to go by by. It was replaced promptly by miken and promptly sold to help buy a Dudley ( love them) Got about 800 swings out of the Dudley before it blew and have 3 more in reserve. The new Mikens are showing good longevity and pop. My next bat will be one of the new Mikens just to compare it to the Dudleys. Any bat that can take 2000+ cuts from At18 has got to be durable. Saw a couple of them out in Vegas last weekend and they seemed to have good pop as well. Hope this helps.

May i suggest a couple of tunes?? FINDING MY WAY, by Rush. (finding my way to the perfect swing???) or perhaps DAZED AND CONFUSED by Led Zeppelin......been dazed and confused for so long its not true, wanted a SWING, never bargained for you.....or for the person that really needs help....(to he tune of the song).... HELTER SKELTER, WHY CAN I NOT HIT THE BALL, HELTER SKELTER, AM I NOT CONNECTED AT ALL???!!! AND WHEN THE CONNECTION IS MADE THERE IS ONLY ONE CHOICE TO MAKE, S.R.V. AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE.....TESTIFY. (NO LYRICS, JUST A RIPPIN" MONSTER GUITAR. KIND OF LIKE THE RIPPIN" YOU DO WITH A GOOD SOLID "A" TO "B" SWING.) PLUS, WHEN YOU START "RIPPIN' SHOTS, YOU ARE GOING TO "TESTIFY TO ANYONE THAT WILL LISTEN!!!!!! (I know, it's late and i'm slap happy) FRANK SINATRA,DEAN MARTIN, AND MEL TORME SELECTIONS TO COME FOR THE CLASSIC BIG BAND CROONER LOVERS ON THE BOARD!!!

HI ALAN, ONE QUESTION, HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO THE SENIOR FREAK BLACK. OBVIOUSLY BETTER IN DURABILITY, BUT WHAT ABOUT FEEL AND POP. JUST CRACKED THE DUDLEY I STARTED USING AT YOUR CAMP. (AROUND 800 SWINGS I GUESS) SO I NEED SOMETHING TO START BREAKING IN JUST IN CASE THE NEXT ONE GOES BY-BY.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT GUYS. GOT BAT AT TOC IN WINTER HAVEN THIS PAST WINTER FROM BOBBY DAVIS. AS TO BACK UPS, I HAVE THREE MORE BATS IN MY BAG, BUT NONE I LIKED AS WELL AS THIS ONE. GUESS ITS ON TO THE 12" DUDLEY WAITING IN THE WINGS. USED THE 13" THIS MORNING AND IT SOUNDED A BIT FUNKY, PLUS THE BALL WASNT JUMPING LIKE IT HAS BEEN. THANKS AGAIN!

Just noticed a crack about 3 inches long right in the sweet spot on my 13" Dudley end load. How much time does it have left and will there be a drop in performance if I continue to use it?? Took somewhere around 800 swings as best as I can figure. Any input appreciated

SO I AM GOING TO VEGAS FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR (55 MAJOR). I WANTED TO HIT THE BALLS USED OUT THERE SO I BOUGHT A DOZEN ISA ROCKS. CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME AN IDEA OF THE PERFORMANCE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FHC TRUMP STOTE AND THESE BALLS?? JUST CURIOUS AND I DIDNT WANT TO GO OUT THERE BLIND AS TO WHAT WE WERE GOING TO BE HITTING. AS A POINT OF COMPARISON, I HIT THE STOTE ABOUT 340 ON A GOOD DAY (280 ON A BAD ONE....LOL). ANY ENLIGHTENMENT OUT THERE??

HI ALAN, FIRST, CONGRATS ON THE WIN! SECOND, SAME PARK? OR DO YOU KNOW YET. I'VE GOT TO FIGURE OUT WHAT BEACH TO PLANT THE WIFE AT SO I'M ALLOWED TO GO PLAY BALL!!LOL. LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING THIS AGAIN. BEEN GOING TO WOODLAWN HITTING CLUB IN ST. PETE ABOUT ONCE A MONTH, AND BOBBY SAID ONE SENTENCE TO ME AFTER A ROUND ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I'LL BE DARNED IF HE DIDNT HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. I STARTED HITTING THE BALL MORE OUT FRONT AND GAINED 20 FEET.
ALSO, DONT KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT VIDEO FOR THIS CAMP, BUT I WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP OUT WITH THIS PART. I HAVE A CAMERA THAT WILL DO SLOW MOTION IN FULL HD. IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO HEAR A RUNNING COMMENTARY BY THE INSTRUCTORS AS ONE IS HITTING B.P.
