Discussion: DUDLEY 2019 LIGHTNING HOTW

I just took delivery of my 14W on 3-1-19 after seeing the great review at seniorsoftballbatreviews.com . I've never even swung a Dudley (always Miken Big Cats) but I thought I'd try this one (my big cat cracked after a season) based on the great review and my interest in trying something with less of a end load. I bought it from Direct Sports. It's still in the wrapper and I don't even know whether to swing it or just return it and get something else. I'm afraid I'll crack it, send it for warranty replacement, and then the next one will crack prematurely). I called Dudley so I could get their position on the issue. 1st she said they would honor a return if the bat had "under 100 swings". Well, that's about 4 bp outings so I guess their idea of a bat that performs okay is anything you get over 100 swings on (not comforting). I asked her if Dudley was going to issue anything in writing about warranty replacement for premature cracking...nope, nothing, just her word that they will remember this issue in June when I actually start swinging it. I don't want to seem paranoid, but I like things in writing. As a new customer to Dudley, that conversation did nothing to to dissuade my concerns. So, as fast as they earned a customer, they lost one.

I love the feel of the bat and the swing characteristics, for those of you that have swung both does that Adidas 2-piece end loaded bat swing similar to the Dudley?

Discussion: Do I count as a major player on a AAA team for next year?

2018 was my first year playing SSUSA softball and I hooked on to a major team that was not competitive at the major level. We tried re-leveling to AAA but were denied. The major team has now folded and there are AAA teams I can join, am I going to count as a "major" player on their roster?

Thanks.

Discussion: Potential 80 Years olds for World Masters

I'm responding on behalf of my dad who is very active at 82. He currently plays on a 70+ rec-softball team where he plays outfield. He's a good opposite field hitter and still has his speed (he still beats me at tennis and I'm 50). He's never played tournament ball but is still very athletic for his age. I'm playing in the major 50+ tournament in las vegas October 4-7, is that the upcoming World Master Champs you're referring to? Do the rules allow you to have a player from Michigan?

You can get in contact with him through me at info@uptownbee.com or via text at 313-600-6882.

Thanks.

Discussion: 82 year old in Lansing, Michigan area looking for team

I'm posting this for my dad who is very active at 82. Unfortunately, the 70+ softball team he was playing on went younger and he didn't get a call. He played outfield (Right Center) on his former team and is a good opposite field hitter with good speed (he still beats me in tennis and I'm 50).

You can get in contact with him through me at riverstonescreenprinting@yahoo.com or via text at 313-600-6882.

Thanks.

hey NFL4Life, I'm in the Detroit area and am looking for a 50 plus tournament team too. Maybe if enough "free agents" in Michigan can link up we can get a team together.

Grayhitter59, I'm already scoping out Florida because I've heard they have great senior leagues there. Does anyone on this message board live at "The Villages"? I'd be interested to hear their opinions on it. I do like the "Green" part of your team because I went to Michigan State. I think you guys have a big game this weekend against Notre Dame, should be a good one.

BH44 - Lansing Legends is the team I watched when I went to that Northern Worlds tournament. You wouldn't happen to know the contact information of anyone on that team would you?

Discussion: Coming soon to a Senior tournament near you

My name is Mike, I’m in Michigan (Detroit area), I’m 50, and I’m looking for a 50 plus tournament team to play on. If I don’t get picked up off this message board I’m going to start going to senior tournaments and walk around with my bat bag holding a sign that says “I don’t suck, give me a tryout to play outfield for your team”. I’ve got an RV and I’m ready to travel. Just give me a shot, a tryout, let me sub, let me shag flyes. I don’t want to let the 2018 summer go by without getting on a team. I played USSSA “E” tournaments with the youngsters until I was 45 and I miss the tournament atmosphere. I’ve got my USSSA bats, ASA bats and I’m more than happy to buy a SSUSA bat if I can find a team.

Right now you’re probably saying to yourself, “Wow, this guy must be terrible if he can’t find a team that wants him”. Normally, I would agree with you if I saw a post like this. That is why all I’m asking for is a try-out to prove myself. If it’s not a good fit or I don’t play to the level you need just say the word and I’ll walk away (sobbing). I went to the Northern Worlds to scout the 50 and over AAA teams and I think I can really help a team. I’ve got good speed in the outfield and I can hit with power or placement. C’mon guys, I need this! AND, as an added benefit, my wife comes to all the games so your fan base will increase! Plus, she can pitch bp as long as you like hitting pitches that never exceed 3 feet.

Sorry, I tried posting the typical “Looking for a team” and didn’t get any results so I’m giving this a shot.

I can be reached via phone/text at 313-667-7391 or email at riverstonescreenprinting@yahoo.com

Discussion: Any interest in starting 50+ AAA Team in Southeast Michigan for 2018 season

I just turned 50 and have been trying to get on a 50+ Michigan team that plays tournaments ball. I've posted several times in "Players Looking for Team" without success so I thought I'd see if there are other players looking for a 50+ AAA team in the southeast Michigan area. Let me know. I'm not interested in running a team but maybe if we get enough guys we can figure something out. My email is riverstonescreenprinting@yahoo.com .
