Discussion: Worth Launch 510

Trumpball ---Used Launch 510 over the weekend and let about 5 teamates use it in BP to get it broke in . My opinion and theirs ,is that it performs exactly like the UII . Do you know wether or not their testing results back this up ? Thanks

Discussion: TECH' INFOR on COMPOSITE BATS & REACTION TIME.

I have read this before . Everyone basically has to know this . Senior Softball would probably die if they ever dummied the bats down too much . Not enough people satisfied with just hitting basehits for the rest of their life . Obviously it would be better for the pitchers and infielders . Also , I can`t see it happening , because of the $$$$`s . Too much money made selling semi-disposable bats and fewer teams would mean fewer dollars for the tournament directors .

Trumpball: Thanks for the info . By the way I bought the Red Combat , after talking to you in Carson City ,and it is killing the ball . Don`t see how these new bats could be any better than the Ultra or the Combat . Just trying to play on there name familiarty to pick up the volume they are losing in this lucrative segment .

Trumpball : Excuse me for being anal , but how close were the actual field test reports ? Also , with the release of Worth`s new "Launch " , do you think all of the manufactures` are going after the senior market ? Thanks

DesertGuy--I am sure the longevity factor is probably the reason . But it is probably ten to fifteen feet depending on who is swinging the bat . The difference is not a big deal when you hit it good . The difference is important when you don`t quite 'get it ". The difference between a catch on the fence or a homerun . That difference is worth the extra price on Ultra breakage , as long as you can get 500 hits out of the Ultra .

Trumpball . Thanks for the reply . Met you in Reno and found you to be very knowledgable and commited to being #1 in the bat world . I am curious to why if the Miken has a higher performance level , (not taking the swing into account ) , then why didn`t you construct your layering process to come out with a bat ,that is the equivalent of Miken . If Miken is allowed in Senior ball, with that performance level , then they would have had to allow yours also . Thanks again for giving us an option to Miken and giving them a reason to have to respond to us ,the customer to stay competitive . We will only benefit from the two of you competing against each other in this lucrative market .

Trumpball . I have the yellow bat , combat and ultra 11 . I have hit all of them for quite a while now and find the yellow bat to be no better than a combat . Posters on here are saying it is the best thing since the grey ultra . I haven`t found this to be the case . I know you are privy to the actual bpf testing of all three bats . Could you e-mail me with the actual comparison testing so this can be settled once and for all . Also , if the bpf is higher on an ultra could the endload in the combat overcome this disadvantage ? thanks jbarrow@mlode.com

Discussion: WHAT DO U SENIOR THINK?

Oete D . Just got done talking to Stoneman and found out something I didn`t know . My experience with the bat has been with a 26 OZ. He said that was the only weight that passed the testing . The heavier bats didn`t . So if the heavier ones are hotter than you are probably right .If i get a chance to swing a heavier one I will be the first to say I was wrong . My experince and opinion are based solely on my experience with the 26 OZ.

If the Combat and Ultra are allowed ,then no one should care if the Rip-It was used . It is a good bat . Right there with both of the before mentioned bats . Between the 3 ,it just comes down to which one fits your swing . The Combat and the Yellow bat are made by the same company . Combat had a one year exclusive with the co. and that is why the yellow bat didn`t get sanctioned . We tend to romanticize that the next bat as hotter and better than than what we have .and the myth gets bigger as it is told ."The Grass is Greener " . The reality usually doese`t live up to the hype . Great bat , but not significantly better or worse than the two we have access to now .

I have to differ here . I have hit all of the beforementioned bats and currently own all of them . My experience has been that the Ultra 11 is a little better than the Combat and the Combat is a little better than the Yellow Rip-It . Don`t have enough hits on the Black Rip-It too make an informed decision yet . But after about 25 hits it really feels stiff . JB

Discussion: Why did Miken Change????

Koivid , the fact that different people will get different results from the same bat is a good point . It has been my observation , concerning guys on our team , that all of the power hitters are sticking with the Ultra ,after trying both heads up against each other . JB

Jim16 . I respect the fact that you have had a lot of experience with bats , but so have I . The Combat does have better durability than the Ultra . For that reason ,I want it to be as good as the Ultra in performance too . But it isn`t . I have compared them numerous times and the Combat does not hit the ball as far as the Ultra / Jb

Keep it in Seattle . We play to hit . The cool climate at least lets us hit a true 375 compression ball . Every degree over 75 ball looses 5 LB. of compression . Rather play in cool weather than hit mush in hotter climates .
