Discussion: walk or pitch

Saw homerun Bill play Tuesday and today (thursday) and they let him hit four times that I saw. At Skyline he parked three well over the 300ft fence and then they walked him the rest. At AW field they let him hit one over and then walked him the rest.
So I guess these teams (my own too) are playing for keeps. Our coach says we walk him because every time at bat is too much and causes our team to feel defeated.

Discussion: bat & thowing speed

I know that I am just getting older (62) but what can I do body wise to increase my bat speed and my thowing is really off.
Looking for ways to train, weigh lifting or something like that.
A machine that will help, or even give the body of a young kid again.

His name is Bill Gateley, he does the hitting clinics here in Az for Rip It. I think is a VP or something for them.
Has played in the senior leagues here for a few years, well liked but I am told choses not to play tournaments. Just senior league ball. Very low key until he gets to the plate, then just walk him (kidding). Anyway, I think we have covered this, time to move on and just play ball.

Apatche Wells field - guy came up - they walked him - let him twice - two homeruns - no sportsmanship here - but a big win for a senior rec league - oh well, sorry BG.....

I think 'homerun Bill' plays today at AW field. I will let you know if they walk him.

Lecak, well said. For us here in Mesa - East Valley Az. We should abide by these words and let the big hitters do their thing. I know Bill G gets walks far too much and we should let him swing away and talk about it over pizza and beer as Lacak says.

After reading these post I have changed my mind and will tell our mrg to let him hit. I agree that we have to use a little mind power and make sure the bases are as empty as possiable when he comes up. So Bill, if you are reading this, we will let you hit. To all those big hitters out there, I hope the other teams do the same. You know we wish we could hit that way.

Are you talking about Bill G. I say walk him. We pitched to him four times, four monsters over the fence, lost two balls. Nice guy, one heck of a hitter. Should be playing with the young kids in city league.

Discussion: Too many black bats

Our team has converted to black Rip It bat, we have 8 of them so far. Any ideas on how to mark the bat to tell them apart. I put address label on it but so did everyone else. Can't read the thing anyway. Does anyone know where to get those colored caps that go over knob. Do they work and can you add on to the bat.

Discussion: Bat banning ?

Thanks for the update, we belive the bat is good to go and will not be banned.
which is good news since we just returned from pactice the some of our bats reached the 300-400 hit mark. At a point the bat started to make a different sound and we all noticed the ball jumping off much better, we even hit a freak to see if it was the same and we all could hit better with the senior ASA (black bat). So we are very happy and impressed.

On another note we want to thank homerun Bill from Rip It for the clinic and we enjoyed watch those bombs over the second wall, about 340ft.
We learned alot but half of us have already forgot most of it.

Discussion: Bat banning ?

Most of us here in Az are switching to the new senior ASA bat. It hits better the the freak which we are not wondering, since it is better than the freak will it to be banned in 2008.
Our group has bought a bunch of the black bat (we know about the yellow) and we should have found out before, any chance of banning ??

Discussion: Rip-It(black), Senior, ASA Bat

We saw the new black bat in action today in Sun Lakes, at our season tournament. It seemed to create quite the stir. Most of the guys liked better than the frreak bat. I liked the feel of the bat, not a strong hitter but those that can hit hard gave it a high rank.
We want to order some but not sure who to call...
