| April 3, 2026 GMCinCOS | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: TOC POLK @LBC - not to speak for him but I think he's asking about Jan 2027. At the top of the current tournament list there is a link title "Teams currently qualified for TOC 2027". If you click the link (https://seniorsoftball.com/?page=30) it takes you to a page titled "Teams currently qualified for TOC 2027" but all the data on the page is for the 2026 TOC event earlier this year. |
| Feb. 24, 2026 GMCinCOS | Topic: Bats Discussion: Balanced bat You'll likely get a diff opinion from everyone who replies, my recommendation would be the Miken Mike Dill bat. I see it listed for $150 on Smash It Sports today, if you like a 26oz. |

| Dec. 10, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: New video rule Regarding §3.11 (New) • VIDEO TECHNOLOGY– Due to advances in video technology and the affordable cost of such equipment, more and more teams are deploying those devices. A proposal was made to prohibit use of video broadcasting or recording devices, including still cameras, within the confines of the playing field. EXCEPTION: Personnel approved by SSUSA to use such equipment on the field • PASSED: 12-0-0 Are the words “within the confines of the playing field “ the key here? Still ok to hang a camera outside the fence and broadcast on Facebook/youtube/erc ? |

| Oct. 23, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Purposeful Stalling maybe even 0 pitches, if the pitcher comes set and you cross the plate before he even delivers the ball. but i digress... |
| Oct. 23, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Purposeful Stalling using 6 pitches is the long way to do it. could have been done in 3 :-) 7.3 • BATTING POSITION C. The batter shall not step directly in front of the catcher to the other batter's box while the pitcher is in position to pitch. EFFECT: The ball is dead, the batter is out and the runners may not advance |
| Sept. 16, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Balls being used in Vegas @Dan4 - i'm not the ball police but someone is.. just be careful. from the tournament email: Balls: Managers will receive 6 Baden Fire balls when they check in. ONLY BALLS DISTRIBUTED AND SOLD AT THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE ALLOWED. Players or teams can buy balls for $20 for 3, $40 for 6, etc. We are not selling single balls. |

| Aug. 27, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: SSUSA and Southwest airlines @gott2play - that's my backup plan. I was hoping to maintain a-list status in 2026 but didn't get enough flights this year. The good news is, you just have to have a SWA visa to get the 1 free bag, you don't actually have to use it to book the trip. Customer support mentioned it takes 14 days to recognize you as a card holder so anyone getting one need to do so in advance of their flight. $69 is the lowest fee, i think they have a couple options for more $$. But if you check a bag twice you are saving $$ with the card rather than paying bag fees. |

| July 11, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: SLC Schedule Thanks for the quick fix. Looking forward to the tournament next weekend. |
| July 10, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: SLC Schedule Hi, reviewing the recently published schedule for SLC. In the 55/60 Gold schedule it looks like you have 2 vs 5 playing twice (Friday 1 PM and Saturday 10 AM) and 3 vs 6 playing twice (Friday 1 PM and Saturday 10 AM). Is this intended in the pool play round to play same teams twice? it shows this way on the schedule and master grid. Thanks |
| June 5, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Uniform Rule on the Line Up Card I was at a tournament earlier this year and 2 players on a team had same number, but the jerseys were distinctly differently. Ump said it was OK because it was easy to see the difference of their shirts. |
| May 26, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Salt Lake City schedule I saw that they did have 8 but still had me wondering. We just came back from Raleigh, they had 9 fields going and they split the 65 & over to a separate session. I think we had 8 fields in KS last month and also split sessions. I'm fairly new to tournaments and always noticed 2 session, at least where I played. Regardless, I'll be in SLC, and looking forward to it. |
| May 26, 2025 GMCinCOS | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Salt Lake City schedule Hi, just double checking whether the posted schedule for SLC in July is correct? It looks like all divisions are playing Fri - Sun rather than having 65 and over during the week. If this is right, should we expect evening games and perhaps a late Sunday finish if we're fortunate enough to make it all the way? TIA. |
