Discussion: Proposed changes in our local league

Pool....first off are their HR rules in your division ? Also how many games are played in your season ? Since you said their are 6 teams in your division 3, I am assuming you play each team at least twice or 3 times for a 10 or 15 game season. My proposal would be that the first time that teams play these 2 60+ teams, they play them even. The second time around, these 2 teams will receive the 5 run equalizer. Then the third and last time you play them, teams would play them either even or with the 5 run spot based upon their run differential from the first 2 rounds thru the division. Your league could determine what that run differential should be that causes them to spot teams the 5 runs or play them even during that final round of the league play. Playoffs would be another issue you can deal with based on how well the regular season rules worked showing the stength of these 2 60+ teams.
Just my opinion.

Even though our team did not do well in the TOC, we had a great time playing the game we love in perfect softball weather. Our team want to congratulate the SSUSA staff for running a great tourney and hope we can qualify again for next year. We enjoyed the banquet and especially listening to the heroic acts of the Wounded Warriors. They are truly heroes. If you have a chance to watch them play softball....they are amazing.

Thanks again SSUSA,

Just curious as to what 55 Major Men's team you sponsored. Did they win a TOC tourney ? Our team is Tri-State Merchants (Pa) and will be participating in the TOC tourney in Florida in Feb and was wondering if the team you sponsored will be there.

I am glad he is doing well. As a fellow coach, I have known Alan since he used to be a player on the old Murphy's Law team. Always have known him to be a gentleman and a tough out. Hope to see him back on the diamond.

Discussion: SALT CITY CLASSIC 2013 CANCELED

ATTENTION TEAM MANAGERS,
THE SALT CITY CLASSIC SSUSA QUALIFIER IN JULY AT SYRACUSE, NY HAS BEEN CANCELED FOR 2013. IT IS STILL LISTED ON THE SSUSA TOURNAMENT LISTING AS SSUSA HAS NOT CHANGED IT YET. IT HAS BEEN CANCELED BECAUSE OF THE PERSON WHO RUNS HOPKINS RD COMPLEX HAS "DOUBLED" THE RENTAL FEE FOR THE USE OF THE 5 FIELDS FOR 2013. THEREFORE, I CANNOT EFFECTIVELY RUN THE TOURNEY IN 2013 BY TRYING TO ABSORB THIS KIND OF INCREASE IN MY BUDGET. I AM SORRY FOR THIS AS THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE 4TH YEAR OF RUNNING THE TOURNEY THAT AVERAGED 20 TEAMS ATTENDING THE TOURNEY EACH YEAR. I WANTED TO POST THIS ON THE MESSAGE BOARD SO THAT TEAMS CAN MAKE ALTERNATE PLANS FOR JULY KNOWING THAT THE SALT CITY CLASSIC WILL NOT BE A SCHEDULED STOP.

THANK YOU FOR ALL WHO HAVE ATTENDED THE TOURNEY IN THE PAST....

CHUCK SHARKEY
