| Dec. 13, 2013 SSUSA Staff 3404 posts | PRAYERS REQUESTED FOR MIKE MACENKO'S RECOVERY The family of Mike Macenko has asked for your prayers as Mike recovers from a very serious medical condition resulting from blood clots lodged in his brain. Mike has undergone surgery twice since Wednesday evening and is now resting in the hospital. Mike's wife has asked that no attempts be made at this time to contact him directly, and for us to keep you informed on his progress. We will do so. Hang in there and Good Luck, Mike. |

My prayers are for Mike and his family. I played against him on the field but we spent a log of time together as friends. Hit one more Home Run Big cat and get through this thing. | Dec. 16, 2013 SSUSA Staff 3404 posts | MONDAY 12/16/13 UPDATE • We are pleased to report that Mike's recovery seems to be progressing well. He is scheduled to leave the I.C.U. sometime tomorrow and will be moved into a 'general population' hospital room. He talked with a close friend this morning, and that friend relayed this update to us. It was the friend's observation what Mike sounded much better, but the hospital looks like his location for the short term future. Mike also expressed his appreciation for all of your words of encouragement and prayers. |

| Dec. 18, 2013 SSUSA Staff 3404 posts | BIG MIKE HEADED HOME FROM HOSPITAL • We are pleased to report that Mike Macenko is scheduled for discharge from the hospital today and will be returning home for additional rest and to continue his physical therapy regimen. His progress has been remarkable over the past week since this condition began, and his doctors are confident that Mike will fully recover over the next couple of months. Mike also again expressed his appreciation for all of the kind thoughts and prayers from everyone in the Senior Softball community and promised to try to get back to anybody who left him messages of encouragement. This is an excellent Christmas Season gift for all of us. |
