I along with the people from Anaconda Sports (Frank Short, John Stote, and gang)are sending you prayers for a complete recovery at this time. Wishing you the best of luck with this issue. We will see you soon on the ball fields again. Take your time and do what the good doctors tell you.

Thank You Cal50. Just trying to get it all back together. She is coming. I have never wasted a swing on trying to hit the middle. No matter what the situation is I am always trying to pull the ball. But you never know. You can accidently miss one and not know where it is headed. Ha! Ha!

Hey Ho, good information there. Was not sure on the rules. Now I know why the insurance companies don't allow it.

OZ, thank you very much. It is funny. I have been on the wounded list for the past 2 years. Finally getting that spirit that softball can put on you. Glad I was able to help back in the day and help now. Have any other questions just give me a shout.

Thanks

Glad that you got your bat taken care of. This is a little note to any body that buys Miken products. The varience in the weight department is supposed to be 1/2 oz one way or the other. Miken has a serial number for every bat they make. So if it mismarked then all you have to do is send it back to Miken through their on-line return policy. If you can work it out with who ever you purchased the bat from you might get it quicker. But I do know for a fact that the bats have serial numbers on them so they can be identified and stay on top of it. Obviously I am a believer that all bats are not created equal. Hoping that this will help.
Have a great day!

OZ40, this year the White Ultra 2 Black model bat is the balanced model. The Black with Green Lettering is the Max Load-1/2 oz endload. My Big Cat is 1 oz Supermax endload. That bat is black and gold. As far as differences in the bats, there is none as far as the shells go. The walls are constructed the same on all 3 bats. That is a fact. It is the weight at the end of the bat that makes the bats different from one another. The endload is the diffrence with the rod in the handle for the counter balance to give you your swing weights. I just finally hit some balls like I use to today and there is no better feeling than connecting on a long one. I have been sidelined for almost teo years now and today I finally hit some softballs the right way. The way the ball came off of my bat today I am really pleased with the performance of this bat. It also has a distinct sound compared to the last Ultra 2 2 Piece bats.

Great job Miken's Research and Developement Dept.

Discussion: Cost of new U2 Black during Huntsman Games.

Dan, Locker Room is charging 219.00 for the bat, 10.00 or 12.00 for shipping and tax. At the Huntsman games there is no shipping but they still charge tax. Hope this helps.

Discussion: Minnesota Merchants

The Merchants did play some great softball on Sunday. I felt like maybe they ran out of gas in that warm weather or they could have won it all. They were hot... To Len, you hit two of the most awesome home runs while playing against Arizona Elite. The one has not landed yet and the other did more moves than Miley Cyrus twerking. Both balls were crushed. Enjoyed the games even though I was only helping with the coaching. A lot of fun..

Miken's bats are manufactured in Caldonia, Minnesota. All the Miken softball, baseball, fastpitch bats are made right there.

The bats were tested and passed the test some time ago. Miken sent them a bat to have and swing. Not to test.I will have the bats as soon as they are produced. You will be able to contact the Big Cat at his number 330-419-0205 if you have any questions about the bats.

Discussion: Does your team track player statistics?

The Clubteams.org is the way to go. It has been developed by Dave Melosi and has a number of teams already using the program. Clubteams.org is free program to use to manage your team. It is the best program I have seen and used since the beginning of the Internet.

Discussion: Stats

To all, I wanted to clarify something here, The Club Teams free version includes keeping team stats, easy communications, scheduling and much more. You can keep the team stats on Club Teams and it will automatically upload to John's stats tracking. This version is not just a 30 day trial.

Thank You

Hey John, it looks like you've got a pretty good handle on the Club Teams program. I am looking forward to promoting this program for them. I am also going to get the sponsorship to give out some prestigous awards for the champ in each category. There is nothing that I would like to do more than to recognize the senior softball programs.

Once again this program has a free trial for 30 days to see if it meets your needs. I have been involved in softball for 40 years and I know this will make things easier for the coaches as well as the players.

If you want to take advantage of this great concept you can contact Dave Melosi at dmelosi@gmail.com..
If you want to talk softball you can contact me at mike@bigcat844.com

Thank You

Discussion: Senior bats vs. 52/300 ball

Here is the thing about these balls and bats. It has been an ongoing battle for over 40 years. Making a bat and ball combination that satisfies the softball arena. You make a bat too hot they change the ball. Make a ball too hot and they change the bat.

I am just saying that yes the sound of the ball coming off of the bat is probably the one thing that can make a hitter happy or put a frown on their face. They like to hear the click. For senior softball you need a 44/375 ball and that will keep everybody happy. Let the younger players use the 52's.

All they (younger players) have to do is fine tune their swings a little bit more with some extra batting practice. Before you know it the bat companies will make a bat to contend with the 52's. They have been working on it for awhile now. Leave the 44/375's for seniors and senior bats.

The less you try to force the seniors to use other bats you will only hear complaints. If I am a rec director or a association director, the less headaches at the end of the day the better off we all are.

Just my opinion.....

Discussion: Dudley Lightning 12" barrel

Dudley is a great company and they should go above and beyond the call of duty. They have great people working with them on the bats. Davey Reed, Hank Garris. You can't go wrong with those two guys. Everybody is selling the Dudley bats. At my place of work we just got a big shipment in of the bats. Dudley is catching on quick!.

Discussion: End cap repair

Gorilla Glue, Locktite are quick fixes that work. Marine glue works the best because of the flexability in the glue once it drys. If you can get the 24 or one week repair kit will be better than the Gorilla Glue or Locktite only because of the flex in the Marine glue. Kevin Schullstrom is the person who found out about the Marine Glue. He repaired enough of them while working on the bats. Randy has the right idea. Try and clean the excess glue off of the barrel and end cap. Good Luck.
