March 10, 2006 TaterinGa | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: Need A Team 55 or 50 Thanks Bruce; but my question was for a 55 or 50 team to play with; I have talked with Ridge. Thanks Fran44: I started the JAH Masters team in 03 & played first for a while #50. |
March 10, 2006 TaterinGa | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: Need A Team 55 or 50 This is Tater: I found out last night that we have lost our sponsor & our team has folded. I am looking for a team in the 55 or 50 Major + bracket; may can drop down & play 50 Major. Stats: 14 All National or World Trophies 2001 SPA MVP Major + 10+ National Titles Decent first baseman Hit 47 Hrs in around 200 AB in 2005 & batted .761. I am tooting my own horn, but I can use a legal bat & hit with ANYBODY!!! I am loyal; if I commit, I will not turn tail & run. Live in Ga; so contact me if you would like for me to tryout. Feb. 15, 2006 TaterinGa | Topic: Bats Discussion: Bats For Trade The Pro is GTG: I have done business w/the Pro in the past; he is great to do business with, although I am better looking than he is. |
Nov. 23, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: New rule for the pitcher I have not posted in a while, but the true logical thing here to do is to make ANY HOME RUN A SINGLE after the HR allotment is passed; because almost every power hitter that I have talked with changes their swing when the HR's are gone. A special thanks to the AD's that have changed the ruling. It takes 4 HR's in most assoc. to equal one run & there are FEW teams that will hit 4 HR's back to back, whereas a double & a single could net a run. Tater |
Oct. 27, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: loss of good friend Glynn/Rock #2: wow! what a guy! I started playing with Faith Electric in 99 & Glynn started in 2000. A fine Christian, family, & excellent person. We talked many times about his work with deliquent children. He will surely be missed; I feel like one of my arms has been amputated. The Faith Team always were huggers; I regret that I did not give him a big hug the last time I saw him 4 months ago. I love you man. Tater |
Sept. 23, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Illegal Players!! After being with Faith Electric from 99-02; I prayed & started JAH Masters in 03'. In 04', I was sent a National Frozen Roster Form that I had to return to all associations. I did not send it to SSWC because we were not going to play there. I could not add any more players after 6/15. I went to several Nationals with only 10 or 11 players cause my roster was frozen. Many major + teams added players per National Tourney, but I did not & I did not protest them except in one case & the TD would not let me view their roster (I was helpless without being able to see their roster). I got down to 9 players & the SPA allowed me to pick up other players, but I had to have a written form from their coach that the team had disbanned. I think my team & one other team were the only two teams that kept the same roster at multiple Nationals. Tater PS We can make a difference if we keep discussing these vital points; this is OUR game. |
Sept. 22, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Illegal Players!! Duke: I still think that if you will make a general business letter & send it our to all of your friends; excluding any Association names, but use the general terms that you can get some help. If you look back at some of my comments you will see that I feel that a DL (driver's license) should match the assoc. ID card. If an assoc. does not have an ID card, then the DL could be cross referenced against other ID cards. If a DL is rigged then that is a State Offense. If the player is approached & will not produce his license, he is suspended; if it does not coincide with the ID card, he is suspended for life....... Also, I am a firm believer in having all NEW assoc ID cards marked showing if a player is a Major or Major+ player. On an existing card, at the first qualifier, then the card is permanently marked. A CD could be easily compiled to list ALL Major players & sent to ALL ASSOC, then when a team tries to sandbag with a lot of major players to play in a lower division, then the list would be there to state that the majority of their team was major players. The Assoc would have to determine how many major players would be allowed on a lower classed team. Remember seniors: this may not have hit you in 05', but somewhere down the road, if you do not help make a change, you will get Snowballed by something. Tater |
Sept. 22, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Illegal Players!! HMMMMMM!!! Makes you wonder Duke: if someone will cheat with rosters; alter bats; they probably would buy a hot altered bat for their grandson in TeeBall. The only answer I can give you Duke is to do what I did about the con rule called the snowbird rule. I think this rule is a total disgrace & the TDs that allow this need to reevaluate because they are getting conned. I have sent my input to all organizations that I play in & have sent it to every ball player that I have an eeeeeeeeaddress & ask them to protest it. Sorry for whatever happened, but there are men over 50 that will do a lot of things to win a game; the problem is they have to face that man in the mirror every night & one day what goes around will come around 100 fold. Duke: get to work & send out a sound letter to all the people you know, not in hate or malice, but do it business like & get them to send it to other players. Just my .02 worth. Tater I feel your pain & ever since I had the snowbird rule pulled on me & my team, I look at Senior ball in a Totally different light. |
Sept. 20, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Let's see what name appears on this post. Don; the mix up on names has happened to me several times so I started leaving my name inside with my message. Thanks Tater |
Sept. 18, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Need Snowbirds Response HMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! Since this was posted on 8/3 not one snowbird has responded; speculation= guess they talked with their TD's & found out they are in the rocking chair with no problems. I still state that the snowbird rule is horrible & needs to be changed. Come on snowbirds defend yourself????? Tater The laws of probability determine that the majority of people under age 65 cannot leave their state & live in another for 3 months out of the year, unless they are millionaires. |
Sept. 18, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: How many Worlds can 1 team win before having to move up to the next highest division The problem lies within the fact that a team can win a World Title, then change their name & come back with the majority of the players & win again w/o moving up. This happens a lot. TD's know who they are, but turn their heads just like they do with snowbirds; anything for attendance & money. If they do little investigation on snowbirds, they will even do less on whether a team that has changed their name should move up if they won a World the previous year. Tater |
Sept. 13, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: why does this board mix up names? Red Stick: you must remember that this is a Senior Board running on the original DOS system; some times it has a senior moment & gets names mixed up; probably needs to upgrade or have a system reboot or total system recovery. Anyway, most all established posters, place their name after their post. Hope this helps Tater Miken Old South #50 |
Sept. 8, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: ASA National Update Thanks Billy: as far as the Al Estes bunch, keep your butt kicking team in Florida away from us LOL!. No congrats; you guys are great & hope to see you at Ft. Myers or the SPA Winters. Still thinking about how I almost was called out against Al Estes on the 3rd strike @ the Spring Nationals SSWC @ Altamonte. The ball missed the mat by about 1/2". Tater #50 Miken/Old South |
Sept. 8, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: ASA Nationals Congrats Billy: I always know that if you guys are in a tourney that we will be competing against a great team & even after the game win or lose, we shake hands & wish each the best. That is what is great about us old guys. See you soon. Tater #50 |
Sept. 8, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: time to bring the boys back Einstein: I cannot determine what is in the hearts of our officials; I can only vote & hope that others will vote in the right man who loves everyone. I can submit to my congressman what I think is going wrong & expound my discontent just as you are doing to try to get them to change Congress & laws in many areas, but in the mean time; I will try to get the message out to all that I can, that the family gov't has got to be restored. That every person was born With A Purpose. I put out a newsletter that is FREE of charge; I will never ask for money or give your name to anyone else; it is just a way for me to testify of the convictions that I have. If anyone would like to subscribe eeeeeeeeeme @ Allworld84@aol.com. Thanks Tater Keep it up guys; I pick up very good info from what we are discussing; that is what makes America Strong. Free Speech. |
Sept. 8, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: time to bring the boys back Gary; Einstein, Fred: I know there are many complications in our Gov't; but I look at the downfall of the original gov't that was set up on this earth. Whether you believe in God or evolution, the 1st gov't set up on this earth was the man & his wife, who in turn directed their offspring. Sure all these problems exist world wide, but to help stop any future problems, the parents have got to take back their governing responsibility that was given them when they produced an offspring. How many children have no clue whom is their father? How many children are not taught that God (or nature, according to how you believe) gave them the mental capacity to become anything that they desire. My first job is not to America, but to be the proper husband & father to my children & to be an example to the rest of my community. The break down of any nation starts with the fall of the family. We have to make the family stronger to renovate our lost & dangerous communities. If we continually see the world problem & do not attempt to correct the family, city, & county problems, then we will still have the same difficulties. Disrespect, immorality & selfishness (my four & no more) is the downfall of any nation. 40 years ago, you never heard of a 10-13 year old child commiting murder; why is it happening today? Do we blame society or the family gov't that has not instilled into our youth that everyone has a vital place on our planet & that taking a life is the most insane thing that a person can do. Here again; I am all for catching the Osama's; casting our vote & making our gov't much better, but it will not change nationally if we do not change it at the family gov't first. By the way: I enjoy reading your insights; thanks for letting me share with you & thanks again for this message board. Tater I will make a difference. |
Sept. 7, 2005 TaterinGa | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: time to bring the boys back I feel that everyone has a right to their opinion, that is what makes America so great. I do not have the answers, I just pray like the rest of you for our troops that are serving our country. One stance that I have always had: we should not give foreign aide to those who do not stand with us. How many times have we given aide just to have the populace of that country ridicule America. Aide is our expression of our love for the human race, but when people are accepting Foreign Welfare without ANY gratitude from us, then it prohibits them from expanding their minds to find a solution. It is proven that a dormant mind will cause a person to turn to waste; will cause low self-esteem; but when our mind is challenged & we realize that we are one of God's children, then we see ourselve's with purpose. Our country needs to go back to the roots of the parents or guardian's teaching our children respect for God & everyone; class & dignity; having strong families; having the inner strength that God put me on this earth to make a difference; that education is an avenue to better ourselve's & the world. We all are examples, whether good or bad, someone is taking notes. They want to be or not be like us. I think that most Americans are in shock & tears at what is going on in the Gulf States & are lending their support. I hear the news about mother nature; but I will make a bold statement: God is trying to tell us something, what is it? Where do we go from here? Before 9/11: you could drive for miles & NEVER see God Bless America. After 9/11, when we saw how vulnerable we were & we also saw how great we were by coming to the aide of our fellowman; you could not travel 1000' in a business area w/o seeing those awesome words. Six months later: NO SIGNS. Personal opinion: God does not want us some of the time, but all of the time. I do not make friends in Senior Softball for some of the time, I want to make friends for the rest of my days. We all have our opinions & I enjoy reading them; I personally am looking at the man in the mirror & asking myself: what have you done or what can you do to preserve your family, city, county, country & world???
