Discussion: Spring Nationals

My name is Mike Santo and I am the pitcher for Promotion,Friedlander. I was trying to put together players to go to the Spring Nationals from my team but could not get enough. Anyone from Jammin Jesses, TNT, Bandits , NJ, PA, DEL, NY that might be interested give me a e-mail at mspieman@comcast.net.

Discussion: New rule for the pitcher

I am a pitcher until this year have pretty much avoided injury. However this year at Glen Bernie I was hit by a batted ball that broke my leg putting me on the disabled list for almost two months.
I say hitting the middle is part of the game and if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

I needed to be in an athletic position and field my position.

Just my opinion.

Discussion: Phoenix 50 Major Plus

What happened to Motown 50Major Plus. I see that they played the bracket games and the East vs West but see no results in double elimination games.
I noticed guys that played with Motown in Manassas and Eastern Nationals were playing with Pine Knob out in Phoenix.
Anyone know ,or did they let them fold up and play with Pine Knob. Would not suprise me.

Hey Robo. If you don't remember they did not use batters box mats and the holes were huge. They just pushed the dust back into the batters box. Hopefully they have installed mats. Other wise the fileds were great.

Discussion: Why have ratings

It took me a while but I now ask this question. The associations have ratings then change or don't adhere to them. Eastern Nationals Motown was allowed to go up to Major + so they could compete in East vs West in Phoenix. There were no other Major+ teams so they automatically won. We were told they would be Major + the rest of the way. We go to the ISSA and were told they were Major even though as of Aug. 16 the were rated Major+. They won that tournament beating us 21-19 in semi's. Then we go to Des Moines and I now see that Pilcher's who complained out there that they we Major+ won the Western Nationals. I guess it's fitting that they will play each other and one will be a champion. I am the coach of Friedlander 50. Our team pays only for the entrance fee and we just try to play our best. It does get depressing when these unfair situations come up.

I agree with all you have written. There definately was a problem with the sun at dusk and in the morning, but what can you do. Even though we received a forfiet from the consolation game, I believe it should have been doble elimination. Pieman Diamond Pro.

Discussion: Help on rule

As a pitcher I have on numerous occasions kicked the ball to the first or second baseman. It is quicker then bending over. There is no rule against this. Just imagine if a line drive hit off the pitchers shin and shot over to the firtst baseman. This would be legal.

Discussion: Eyeglasses and seeing the ball?

I TRIED WEARING GLASSES AND CONTACT LENSES AND COULD NOT STAND IT. I HAD LASIK DONE ON BOTH EYES WITH MONO-VISION. THAT IS ONE EYE SEES CLOSE FOR READING AND THE OTHER SEES DISTANCE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND SPENDING THE MONEY AND BE FREE.
