Discussion: Pool games....???

I play them at 100 percent, although I think want to play them at 60 percent.. I will say I am more reluctant to run for people in those games and there are tourneys that the wins are important such as a bye in first round or a better time in starting the championship rounds.. so you have to weigh it all and see what's important to you.. Goodluck and Have fun... For the record, I feel the same way you do...I usually look at these games as a way to get some ABs in and get in the flow.

Discussion: Major plus problem

Webbie, although these results show your point, it is not indicative of the true example of dynasty.. if you were to take all the SSUSA Tourneys and show the results, I think you would get a better Idea of the Dynasty teams.. plus the fact second and third place teams not listed... you will find these teams Tim spoke of every year. The real discussion here is how do you build a better Major plus division... My team played in a 50 Major plus tourney a few weeks ago and took second, we didn't even win a game! LOL We had All Tourney guys for that tourney too.. What a Joke! This is the problem with the plus division.. to Fix it you need to move up more teams so that there is someone to play instead of the 2 to 6 teams that play 50plus ball!

Discussion: Major plus problem

Webbie, you are 100 percent wrong on Tim's team wanting to move to 55 major... wasn't even on his wish list! for the record, I don't believe in breaking up any team... however, not bringing enough teams up to the Major Plus division makes it to easy for the dynasty team to win.. If they had to go through 40 or 50 teams instead of the 3 to 6 teams that show up.. might be a big difference..IMO.. Another aspect is that SSUSA would be keeping the non Dynasty teams happy by having other competition other than getting their ass's handed to them by the Dynasty teams..

Screamer 5, no doubt that the money of everything that we pay for makes it seem more acceptable when we get more games per dollar!.... There is one more aspect from a coach's perspective... When you have 12 to 14 guys on a team that most of us self sponsor, you get a chance to play everyone in those bracketing games..

I play outfield and would not mind one bit(BTW I could play every inning of every game), sitting for a few innings or entire game in order to rest and get ready for the championship rounds.

Also, it helps to get your second tier players some ABs to help them get their confidence up for when they are called on. Keeps moral on the bench up and makes everyone more cohesive in my opinion!

Omar, all I can say if I was on a team like yours I would quit! your fielders suck!;-) Now, here is my observation... I played 40s and 50s major and plus 8years into Senior softball.. in all the games we have played, and we play about 14 to 16 tourneys a year.. two guys got hit.. one a pitcher and one a 3rd baseman.. bad hop hit the 3rd baseman and a shot right at the pitch by JK inc that ended the game as we beat them! We played against the biggest and strongest guys in the game... usually my team is associated with glove work! Not injuries from batted balls... BTW not one guy ever went to the hospital from a batted ball against us or on any of my teams! Facts

Discussion: Not HAPPY with Bats Unlimited!

had a bad experience with EBAY and a seller.. first off.. my wife answers the door and it's USPS with an empty bat box... he says he will take it back and that there is nothing in it.. I notify the seller and eBay.. they do nothing and now it's my responsibility to track it all down... I summit what I found to EBAY and they side with the seller and I was sold an empty box.. Bat for my son was never delivered and I was out $150.00..

Discussion: Rating Question

Ha, turtleman... I only hit Einstein once, in a league game about 4 years ago.. felt horrible and didn't even move from batters box... he laughed and picked the ball up and threw it to first.. I wrote him an email that night and said again how sorry I was.. We were using metal bats at the time with the 44-375 in SF.. He emailed me back and said he was fine and no problem.. he knew I hadn't hit for a while and he threw me an outside pitch with bases loaded and I was trying to go to right field with it(even though I'm a pull hitter), with the wind.. I thought to myself, man that was a shot he took.. surprised it didn't do more damage.. He told me a couple of years later that he had a knot on his leg for a year... We had a laugh about it.. none the less, at the moment he wouldn't let me know at all and played it off! Tough and Crazy old dude for sure!

Discussion: 50 MAJOR & MAJOR PLUS COMBINED

I second what Timmy said about NCSSA... it provides us with Great opportunity to play and with the one up rule and the runs spotted makes for lower level teams to compete with the big boys..

Never combine the major and + division... only the upper 5 percent can compete in + ball if lucky.. plus ball usually has sponsors to cover cost.. End of Story.

Discussion: So the question was....how to get more teams to play Major Plus

I hear you Cal50.. I'm not sure about only three divisions.. I don't really know anything about the AAA and AA divisions. I do know that there are all kinds of different talent levels and there is a purpose for those divisions... I think you have to have at least 20 to 30 m+ teams in the 50s to make it attractive to playin in... when I came to the fiftys 3 years ago, I believe there were only 12 teams in the entire country! They listed more, but there were teams that weren't even teams anymore AKA Five Spot. last year, I looked around and found 20 plus teams in 50s+.. That is a huge difference then playing the same 5 to 6 teams that was happening 3 years ago at the worlds..
