Rule about a runner going to first says he must touch the orange bag if a play is being made on him/her. Unless the play at first forces him/her to touch the inside bag. Now, if there is no play on the runner at first, does he have to touch the orange bag or can he touch the white bag? Have not found this answer in the rules. Staff? Thanks

Send me an email at above address. Not really something to discuss in this venue but will say you won't find a cheaper tournament in Texas and its usually a pretty good one. 15 years and counting. Might even be able to help you with some players depending on age group you want.

We'd like to thank all the teams that made our EarlyBird tournament a successful event. Lot of good softball early in the year and a great way to get started. We'd also like any teams in Texas or surrounding area that might be interested in this event to please contact me(gthomas39@comcast.net) and I will add you to our email list. This year again, we had 50-55-60-65 and 70 year old teams. If noting else at least get on the list and you might learn about tournaments being held in other areas, especially in the Austin area. Everyone have a great year. Thanks to all

Definitely not a sanctioned tournament. Been doing this one and others for. 13 or 14 years. normally 20 to 28 teams. All ages. just a lot of fun and get teams started up for the year. As for moving up I am not playing any more but Tharp still runs the Fire team and I would hope he appeals that move up.If they were really a major team they would gladly move up. Time will tell. Thanks for the congrats.

We'd like to thank all 21 teams that participated in our EarlyBird tournament. A special thanks to the Baytown Rec Dept for working many hours to get 6 fields ready for play on Saturday. They did one heck of a great job. This tournament was a huge success due to the super teams in Texas and Louisianna. A lot of good softball, new and renewed friendships were brought together. Thanks to everyone and hope to see many at our March 23rd tournament. GT
