Joe Browns' All-Stars Disbanding
It is with great regret that JBAS will no longer play as a team in 2016. The players have been released and free to move to other teams. I have been honored to coach and play with some great ball players and wonderful individuals. For the record, no mystery or conspiracy theory, I did not want to coach any longer and there was no other volunteers. Core group decided to go separate ways. There will be many rosters improved by the addition of the JBAS alumni.

I apologize for the length of this post.

For the life of me I will never understand why some people try to interpret something different than what is stated. Two issues I want to address and if anyone says different, then at best, they are misinformed and at worst, LIARS.

I made the decision to step down as manager of JBAS. I did so because of the amount of time it took to manage a team at the major plus level. The time it took was affecting my work product thus my livelihood thus my family. It was not a person(s) or event(s) that facilitated my decision. It was a combination of everything that managing entails. Those who manage or coached at any level know that for every hour at the ball field there are that many put in elsewhere. So anyone saying it was this person or that person's fault that JBAS broke up, it may be their opinion, but not the reason I stepped down. I love my teammates, they are my friends and I care about their lives and their families. Whether I disagree or not with some things that happened, so what. Disagreements occur in every facet of our lives, but so do, laughs, sharing, caring, and support. That is life. I let it affect my work, therefore I had to step away to protect my family. Simple as that. Maybe when I retire and can devote more time to managing I will try it again, until then....If I play again this season, I will check the lineup to see what my role will be, line up or bench, and be the best teammate I can.

2nd issue - I screwed up. When I stepped down, I should have sent out an email to everyone asking if anyone wanted to manage. I had been told in the past that no one wanted the job so I assumed that was the case going forward. I made a mistake, I screwed up, it is on me. My intent was; since I thought no one wanted the job, that disbanding would not count against the individuals who played in the Winter Worlds as a release in going forward. Simple, but a very poor decision. I lost friendships as a result and that is on me. My intent was to be helpful and not harmful on their ability to find a team going forward. I failed in communicating effectively, this is on ME. I value friendships more than any championships and I have lost friendships so in this instance lose/lose.

I do not want anyone to take sides or defend my actions, it is not productive.

So again for those who want to try to smear the reputation of any individual on the roster of JBAS most recent or previous. I, Michael T. Adair, George Adair's son, am totally responsible for my actions and bare consequences of such.

I wish all of my teammates and their families the best and pray for their wellbeing and hope to see them on the field.

I didn't see this thread until today. I admit to still being a bit in shock, but Mike did everything for this team, and I can certainly understand that it became too much. While I do wish we had tried to stay together, that is all in the past now.
Mike, thanks for all you did. I have enjoyed the ride. Now it is time to embark on a new adventure. I will miss playing with my old friends, but they will remain friends. I trust the future includes new friends.
