Posted | Discussion |
May 9 AuburnDan 2 posts | We have a slow-pitch, senior rules, drop-in program starting, for 55+. We‚re too small to have a 70+ or a women‚s program. We have a number of skilled men playing in the 55 to 68 age group, no women or 70+. I am thinking of modifying the bat requirements for the 70+ and the women (it is a park CoRec program) to give them a better opportunity to hit on a par with the 55+ men, thus promoting participation. For the 55 to 69 men, I would still require a single-wall bat. For men over 70, and for women over 48, I would allow „hotter‰ multi-wall bats, to give them a chance for some more distance. I have played with men in their 80s and they have a hard time getting out of the infield. Comments, pro and con appreciated. Also, what do you think of a limit of 48+ for the women ˆ too high or too low? And, any multi-wall bats you would not permit? |
