Northeast Championships scheduling
is it a common practice to have a team enter a three day tournament and not be scheduled
for Friday prelims but rather play their first prelim on saturday?? ie: the 60 major in syracuse??? either undue hardship or pandering??--neither of which meets ssUSA standards

This one is absolutely in the "undue hardship" category, by pre-arrangement weeks ago, and with our consent ... That team's long-time former manager (and still current player) has a cancer fund-raiser Memorial event in honor of his late wife at noon on Friday ... It will be attended by many/most of his team mates and is approximately a two-hour drive from Syracuse ... While uncommon, it's not the first time we have accommodated a team's advance request of this nature on a compassionate basis ... They will play four games in five time slots on Saturday (potentially five in six slots if they win #4) ... We do not consider to be a competitive advantage ... We plead guilty as charged for showing compassion for an undue hardship, but this reply should also adequately dismiss your pandering inference ...

Happy 4th dave! I should have known this but missed the golf tourney invite again. Champ deserves the compassion meted out. His wife Terri was a sweetheart. maybe they could add a couple players for their 5 game saturday!! what do you think??
