Rock N Reno Bracketing and Observations
I look forward to playing int he Rock N Reno event each year but this year it wasn't as fun as years past and here are some observations i noticed. Played in the 50's.

1) Game times and long breaks from our 12:30p game to the 8p which we were the last game scheduled and had to be back at 8a the next day if we won, which we did. Three games at 12:30p all loser bracket games and they should have been scheduled accordingly based on finish one at 5p 6:30p and 8p our game finished first from all three.
2)We got to the 8p game at 7:15p and there were two open fields where we could have started our game earlier but speaking with the directors they didn't want to do that. Reasons were field preps needed to be done, but if we started on one of those fields the field ending could have been prepped and then once we were done that would have been prepped it would be a trade off. The field that was open was not prepped yet for the following day.
3) Adding to number 2 directors want all teams at the park 30 mins before game times or they will deem the game a forfeit sometimes they work with you and sometimes they don't, but when asking to move fields to be done earlier they don't budge. It needs to be a two way street.
4) The umps we had were decent to good a couple of them forgot the score at times and had to be corrected but overall good. Had a good conversation with one of them.
5) Fields when signing up for this event we all want to play at Golden Eagle and this is why some numbers are down and also not being on the 3 day weekend. No disrespect but the Major and Major Plus teams should get the privilege to play at Golden Eagle and the lower divisions assigned to Centennial. This would make those teams want to get better and move up. Centennial has snakes that were present in our session and the tournament staff wants the teams to shag balls well I know I wouldn't knowing snakes are looming.

Just my two cents worth.

SKings 24 ... Just a couple of observations ... Your items 1) and 2) • The bracketing for the Elimination Bracket contained multiple conditional "If" games, and the bracket structure in most cases require them to be played sequentially ... Your item 3) • Teams are required by rule (§5.1 B.) to be present 30 minutes prior to stated game time ... The second sentence regarding forfeits was removed from that rule at the Annual Rules Committee sessions in November ... Your item 4) • Our U.I.C.'s are constantly striving to upgrade the quality of the umpire crews ... Thanks ... Your item 5) • The Rock 'n Reno field assignments have historically rotated on a four-year schedule, alternating between Memorial Day and the following weekend ... The 40's and 60's pod and the 50's and 55's pod also swap Reno/Sparks vs. Carson City each time ... The simple result is that those age groups are assigned to Carson City once very four years ... Your assertion that Major and Major Plus should be assigned to Golden Eagle is invalid ... This year ALL 50's, regardless of rating, were at Carson City and ALL 55's, regardless of rating, were in Reno/Sparks ... Every team, from 40-Major+ through 80-AAA pays the same entry fee for this event, so rating is not a factor on who plays where ... Thanks for your comments ...
