players outside of your state
SSUSA
Is there some new rule that you can have 2 players from outside your region in AA and AAA?
Some of my players received emails about this.
Can you let me know if this is true?
Thanks
Brett

coop3636 ... This is true and the following is a cut/paste from the Official Minutes of the National Rules Committee Telephone Conference call meeting of April 7th ... The change becomes effective for rosters beginning with the 2021 Season ...
__________

BACKGROUND • At the Annual Convention Rules Committee Meetings, several items brought to the Committee’s attention by the public membership required further study and statistical data analysis by Staff. Among those items were taking a fresh look at Roster Composition in the context of states and bordering states with boundaries in bodies of water, potential combination of lesser populated states, and a potential exception to allow family members to play on the same team. The Committee held a generalized discussion on all of these items for approximately 45 minutes with particular focus on finding a sensible solution that addressed as many of the issues as was possible. At the conclusion of the discussion, the Chair solicited motions from the members. There was one such motion.

MOTION (by J. Jackson/D. Dowell) to amend, effective with the 2021 Season beginning in November, 2020, the roster composition rules as follows for teams rated below Major-Plus and not domiciled (home state) in the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada or Oregon. Teams may add to their roster up to two (2) otherwise eligible, as to age and rating experience history, players who do not reside in the team’s home state or bordering states. Such players must be from the same side of the Mississippi River as the home state of the team. • PASSED 9-2
