2005 Seattle SSUSA Worlds 80s Age Bracket, a short video clip
These guys would be 95 or older now, but thought someone might recognize a friend or opponent..very short clip. I was 52, my first SSUSA tourney. Playing 50 Major we lost to the Road Dogs, who won the grand slam in the finals. I was impressed with the level of play in my division but blown away when I watched a bit of the 80s. My dad had been a very good athlete but at 60 had a stiff old body. What SSUSA provided as an incentive for athletes to keep in shape and keep going at the 80s was an unreal lesson I learned. At 67, and coming off the first knee replacement, there has to be some motivation to keep in shape..and playing senior softball provides it for a large group of us. Thank You! I remember the spectacular Mount Rainier being seen at the fields and driving up it to sight see...and of course meeting Art "Bash" Eversole!
