Why does SSUSA feel there is a need to allow 3 sixty nine year old players on a 70’s roster? If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Your perception that "..if it's not broke, don't fix it.." is a regional perception only. A majority of the voting committee members persuasively made the case that in the central and eastern regions of the country, building age 70+ teams is a difficult process at best. The SPA and ISSA associations provide for those underage exemptions, and many SSUSA registered 70+ teams don't play SSUSA frequently because they can't roster enough players to be competitive in a larger event with a lot of games. This rules amendment addresses the issue for them without requiring Western teams like yours to roster the underage exemption players. Also, this item has been on the Committee Agenda for multiple years, finally garnering enough votes for passage.

The central and eastern regions explanation makes sense.

Does the three 69 year olds allowed to play +70 good right now for the 2024 season?
