Went to watch the Hollis gang play their 1st game but the other team was a no show. They were next slated for Kelley's but I had to leave to play.

On our fields the games were so far behind that our 2:15 start was pushed back to about 4:20 and our following game schedule for 4:00 got stopped because of darkness and no one thought to get the light keys. Even though the games were hopelessly behind the officials really didn't do anything to speed up the games.

Hopefully things pick up......

BRUCE: Hollis, lost to Kelly's 27 to 22. Hollis, beat Pilners, 40 to 20. In the open inning, Hollis, put up 17 runs.

S. Mavericks, went 0 & 2. I believe Al B.... beat Kelly's 30 to 29. Not sure about the score between Al B... & the Mav's.

The Club prez, forgot to get the City, to turn the Field Lights on.

Not sure what will be done to the Colorado Team.

BERT 55 : I sent u an E-mail. Rules were broken, teams were not happy that LVSSA'S prez did nothing.....

The LVSSA CLUB is go' down the wrong road again. BAD management......PERIOD.

major Plus players that have played dur' the past yr, must stay in Major Plus or NOT play.

Players, can NOT jump around from team to team. Teams r NOT to hide players, Sandbag, pick up higher division players, etc, etc.

If, the majority of a teams players r out of Colorodo, that team is classified as a Col' team. If, u have 14 players & 7 players r out of Col' & this same team has 5 Utah players, that team can NOT move, or get reclassified as a Utah team.....

What ever....... this is my last yr as a member of LVSSA & there r many 50 to 55's club members that r also, quit'.

The STONEMAN.... What a sad state of events....

GEORGIA PEACH (BRUCE)
Start of the 50 M +. Kelly's, beat Al Estates. Kelly's then beat Hollis 42 to 28. Pilner's, was beaten, Ibelieve by Mac 11.

Then Seacreast Mav's, beat Mac 11, by 1. Winner bracket, will be Mav's vs Kelly's.

Loser Bracket.... Pil's vs Al Estated. Hollis vs Mac 11

That's all that I found out. In the 60 m+. Loser Bracket will be Ol' A's vs Kidz. Winners Bracket... The Farm vs Bill Ruth. I believe that The Farm won???

BRUCE; What a joke this wkend has been. LVSSA, has ruined VEGAS SOFTBALL. I hope all the pissed off teams will post the stupitity that went on the past 3 days.

1) NO more Tim Reed.
2) Have enough fields.
3) Friday & Sunday, No Lights or lights went out in the 7th.
4) Championship Games should start before 2:00 PM &
NOT after 6:00 PM.
5) Give teams several days notice of when that team plays.
Do Not tell a team that they will play @ 8:00AM & that
teams 1st game is @ 3:00PM. Also, do not message up
the schedule so bad that teams spend 14 hrs @ a field
in order to play 2 games.
6) Teams come to Vegas to do other things beside Softball.
7) Stop MPlus players play' down. Ask SPA or SS-USA
to review rosters.
8) Fire or Impeach Jerry Theyer, LVSSA'S PRESIDENT.

So much more. Many of us Vegas Seniors, r & have quit the LVSSA CLUB.

Try' to Laugh.. The STONEMAN
Many of the Club Members r upset. Worest every Tourney.

Stoney - Yeah, it's true this was probably the worst run tournament in recent memory from about every possible miss-management possibility the plus was the field of teams available. Hopefully the LVSSA can make positive changes for future tounaments to keep the team count up.

One thing they could not ruin was the comradship that exists within our fraternity. It was great to see you, Crusader, Joe, Curveball, Chollis, Audieh, the Kelley's and Hollis gangs and other friends/teams from all over the country too numerous to mention but not forgotten.

That's what makes this so worthwhile.

Sorry you all had a bad time, and glad that I was not there this year. I actually emailed LVSSA to let them know that they needed to improve their tournament, or teams will not go any longer or not show up. Guess that did not yield any positive motivation. It is good to get these messages, because my team will make plans to play elsewhere next year.

In the Major division, Windy City Softball won by defeating Goodman in the winners bracket final and the first game of the championship. Goodman advanced to the championship game by defeating Evolution in the losers bracket final. Windy City finished 7-0.

this tournament was run badly for the 60's at lorenzi. in the practice games on friday it got late and no one thought about the lights and when they did get one field with lights a coe ed team had rented the field for that night.
how do you not have the fields rented during a national tournament? then on sat they decided to just draw for seeding for the 7 major plus teams. the rules kept changing.
then the way the tournament was drawed up they brought back 6 losers and 1 winner for the sunday games.
we spicer / turn two came out of the losers bracket and had to play 6 games in a row on sunday to come back and win. does this association not know how to draw up a tournament? this was the first year we had this kind of kaos.
What happened here and will it be fixed for next year? If this is problem is not solved they will lose some teams next year.

The city location for the tourn. is great but that is where it stops for me. I decided after last year to not take a team back. For the fees, the fields were deplorable. We also, lost our first game of the double elim. for an umpire threatening to kick our #4 hitter out of the entire tourn. for having the incorrect color shirt on. We had to take a out, lose the RBI from the hitter and ended up losing by one run. Too far to travel for the inexcusable crap. The games should be decided between the lines and NOT by insignificant calls by the umpire. I am sorry to hear about the other players dissatifactions, but I am not surprised. Congratulations to those that endured and did win....
