| Jan. 10 Rod Sweet Men's 70 53 posts | What Would You Change in Senior Softball-Part III Their were approximately 19 post regarding "What Would You Change in Senior Softball Part II" I noticed that most would like to play a complete game and thoughts were provided on how to do that, those thoughts are things we are accustomed to doing during a game. I would like to know who/what/where/when the time limit for playing a seven inning game was introduced. Was it about getting as many teams as possible to play on a weekend for the sport or was it $$$? Would changing the time limit by 10 minuites satisify all our concerns? In addition I understand that certain association have different time limits. |
| Jan. 10 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | What Would You Change in Senior Softball-Part III Rod, from what I remember, in the 80's we did not have time limits. In the mid 90's ASA started timing them in my area. Good ole ASA.. Partly for getting the team there for sure, but with teams, comes the bottom line, the receivables. I feel 1 hr 15 min would get all innings in even with the time it now takes to start another inning as it is. Yes there are from 55 min to 1 hr 20 min that I know of off hand. |

I am a little dissapointed with the responses to my post 'Part III" so I thought if I would bring it more to the top of the message board, folks might look at it again. Looking at some of the related messages to: "Changes to Senior Softball" since my last message. I would say if they were to be incorporated it would take about 10 years. |
| Jan. 11 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | What Would You Change in Senior Softball-Part III Rod, Not the most nor the least # of post, anyway, so what. Assn's merging, it ain't gonna happen, as a whole. A couple are basically already together on the same page with a few exceptions in rules, but those are primarily a regional thing for them individually. I believe that those involved in the summit have a lot to do, and sure the heck are not going to make everyone happy. I do hope those addressing issues, suggesting reforms, and everything else before and through the vote, remember that there are both seniors, which is most of us here are concerned about, and non seniors, which some want included in and as a part of 'Senior Softball.". I personally am against that. May they do their work for the better of the whole (I believe that is Senior Softball), not a select group, place or some self interest. |
