The FINAL Field Assignments have been made for the Tournament of Champions 2008 and are available from the link on the Home Page. These assignments replace the previously posted TENTATIVE Field Assignments

The number and mix (age and division) of teams entered required changes in City assignments for two Divisions and changes in facility assignments for four other Divisions within Lakeland only, as follows –

CITY AND FIELD ASSIGNMENT CHANGES –
• Men’s 60-AA moved from Lakeland (Southwest Complex) to Winter Haven (Auburndale Complex); and
• Men’s 70-AAA moved from Lakeland (Southwest Complex) to Winter Haven (Diamondplex Complex)

FIELD ASSIGNMENT CHANGES WITHIN LAKELAND –
• Men’s 50-AA was moved from the Carter Road Complex to the Southwest Complex; and
• All Divisions previously scheduled for the Westside Complex were moved to the Southwest Complex in (Men’s 75's, Men’s 80's and Women’s Divisions)

Good luck to all!

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS 2008 - Participating Teams
Thanks Staff, for pointing out that the list of participating teams for the TOC is now available.
It appears that we, Hollis Appraisals, will be playing Travelodge the best of two out of three games. It also appears that we will be playing Major teams in the round robin/seeding rounds.
My question is this, when we play the Major teams, will we be playing by the Major rules or the Major Plus rules? You can probably guess what my next question will be, If we are playing by Major rules, the new "pitcher safety rule" will not apply to our games when we play a major team.
Any thoughts? Or, will our team play by the Major plus rules, especially the "pithcer safety rule" and the Major team doesn't? How about the hr rules?
Just something to ponder.

Bruce - In SSUSA tournament games involving teams of different ratings, the game is played under the rules of the lower rated team (for home run limits, runs allowed per half-inning at bat, etc.) In 2008, any such game involving a 50/55/60-Major+ team and a Major team, the game will be played under Major division rules, PLUS the pitcher's safety rule will be employed for the game for both teams.

So Bruce, it appears that Hollis will win a ring by playing exhibition in the 50 Platinum division because there are no other Major + Teams entered. I hope they make you pay for it. : )
Congratulations. Do me a favor and lose all 5 games will ya? That would be a good story to tell when you show someone the ring.
If 50 and 55 were combined, at least it would have been a 3 team brackett.

George, did I miss something, I thought Travelodge would be there. We will be the only two Major Plus 55 teams there.

Hey Bruce,
Yes, I was talking about the 50 Platinum division, not 55. Don't you play on both teams?
Hollis is the only Major + team that entered out of the 4 that qualified. (Randy Smith was listed as Randy Smith and Hendicks Sports so there was really only 4 teams qualified),
You know I was just messin' with you anyway. : )

George, I only play on the 55 Hollis team. I played on the Specialty Tank year before last.
