Brickyard tourney-need better scheduling
The 60s group scheduled to start their "4" games at 5:20 delayed about an hour with the 4th game starting past midnight in high 30s temps and high winds pretty much sucked. Older guys, poorer eye sight and less resistance to injury and colds. Many guys with stiff backs and pulled muscles. Maybe next year, schedule the older guys in the daylight and let the young guns 50s, with better eyes and physical bodies play the night schedule. Several umps didn't know the senior rules but the umps were OK overall. No complaints about the field conditions. The ground crews were good. Also, Make sure all teams report their rating (super major etc.) when they sign up.

Gary, I completely agree with you. Tim's schedule did get all of the 60, 65, and 70 teams out early with the exception of your bracket. We have already talked about that being a major issue. Of course if the weather had been a little nicer it would have been better. In looking back over everything, I think that I probably am to blame for the team that you are talking about. I think when the issue came up that I was on a diamond, or maybe we could have dealt with it better. Every team in that bracket should have had at least five runs or an extra fielder. When Midwest gets me the results over here later this week, I want to look at that bracket first. I am not sure if even the equalizer would have helped, I do know that there were an awful lot of good games played. Midwest may have to use their two other diamonds next year because there were an awful lot of games for two days. There was a large NSA NIT and an NSA qualifier also and most of the better umpires in the city were at that those complexes, but Midwest had a few good umpires there. I will be sure to pass on to Tim any input especially if it can help improve Midwest's tournament.
