TOC Florida - Tampa or Orlando airport?
Our Norhtern California team is considering attending the TOC in January 2009.

The question I have is which airport would be the better destination from Northern Californa area (San Jose/Oakland/SF), would it be Orlando or Tampa and why?

Either seem to be about 50 miles for the Winter Haven fields.

Thanks,

In my mind both are equal. We typically check the costs of flights and times and let that determine which airport. Both airports offer a direct line on I-4 to the ToC.

Hacker - Book to the airport with the best fare(s) at the time. SSUSA Staff has flown into both places at various times. Commute traffic is about the same (on I-4) from either, and about the only other secondary factor might be the pricing on rental cars from the same company. Sometimes we find rates vary between the two airports, although I can't imagine why. Good luck! ... DAVE

I have gone to the TOC for the last 2yrs and it seems that flying into either airport is the same in distance... price would be the major concern pick the best deal and go for it... side note head down to the Everglades it is well worth taking the time to see... Good Luck

wes, ft myers 2 hours from tampa and lakeland and another 30 mins to orlando. if you are flying, from my experience, look at tampa or orland. its cheaper than going thru ft myers airport. ken
