I was in phone convesation last night with the nice lady who currently runs the NASCS(SSWS). She was trying to justify the importance of the fee for player cards necessary for the success of their tournaments. If they are so important to their success, then will someone please tell me how the ISSA, ISSF, NSA, ASA, LVSSA,USSSA mangage wtihout the usage fee from the cards !!!?? All of my years of playing senior softball, I am still puzzled over this issue. Do some of these organizations really care about the individual player's interests?? I personally don't know, but I would like to hear your takes on this issue...........LA

IMO it's like most things, It's all about the MONEY.
Their not the only associations either. Other "state" asscoiations have other ways of controlling the where held, how advertised, who gets in which teams play which others & from where they come from portions. Those factors and others all mean you either get more of it or maybe less.
Some of those one may argue one way or another on, but the bottom line is still the hard earned money the players pay and who'spocket it ends up in, err.. asscoiation that is.
After all it makes the world go round doesn't it? not
