Why is it that we are traveling to Fla and our second game is against a team that we could have met half way and played in DC?

birdie ... The technical answer would take to long and probably not be fully understood, but here are a few of the easier obvious reasons ...

• Everyone in your 55-Major plays (at least) one crossover game against one of the 55-M+ teams, and one team (Simmons Rhinos) plays both of them ... That limits the options for the 'other' seeding game ...
• 60% of the teams in 55-Major (3 of 5) come from a very near geographic area: MD, VA and VA ... If there was one more team from outside that area in 55-Major, you would have drawn them ... But there wasn't, and you didn't ...
• I avoid, whenever the math allows, intra-state games ... Hence, you didn't draw Spicer's as an opponent ...
• Simmons Rhinos were 'out' for you because they are playing the two 55-M+ teams ...
• Syracuse was 'out' for you because they are already playing the other VA team ...
• That leaves one option by process of elimination: High Street Bucs ... BINGO!!
• The schedules are still DRAFT in nature ... If you'd like to 'double up' against the 55-M+, just let me know ... I can arrange that in a heartbeat by putting you in against The Titans and giving Simmons the game against the High Street Bucs ...
• I doubt the fields and level of support for a single game in DC would be as enjoyable, regardless of the opponent ... There's something better about playing amongst a lot of our peers instead of just one team ...
• There are 169 teams playing potentially 545 games over six days this time ... This equates to just over 50% of the size of the recently concluded World Championships and is being done on 19 fields instead of the 29 I had available in Phoenix, and in six days instead of ten ...
• The Master Fields Grid is available online, and your (constructive) comments on improving the schedule are always welcome ... Give it a look and let me know ... I'm always open to suggestions that aren't in the form of groundless complaining ...

Thanks!

Dave, Thank you for the response.it just seems that whenever we travel we end up playing the same teams.I do believe that you do take all this into consideration when making the schedules. Just to prove a point we were in Phoenix and our second game was against a New Jersey team that we play all the time. This was because of the scheduling but the seeding. Just the luck of he draw.I am not pointing a finger at anyone ( I would not want your job)it just seems strange how this works out. Thanks

No problem Harry ... I take FULL responsibility for who you play on Friday, and nothing is perfect, but we try ... The only thing I smilingly tell teams is that THEY are fully responsible for who they play on Saturday and Sunday based on how they are performing in relation to the other teams! ... Good luck! ...
