over all player
After take all in consideration what makes a person the player you would want on your team. Powere, defense or all around or a person who just has a good attitude. How would you build your team. Don't forget experience,

IMO a player who has average to above average talent in all areas of the game. But more importantly has the personality that fits with the rest of the team. I call it "chemistry" but I believe most know what I mean. A team needs to support each other and have total confidence in each and every player on the team. This relieves a lot of pressure if making an out or an err. Our team had success over the last several years because of "chemistry" and an attitude of not wanting to lose.

For me, in the older Divisions, I would want a player as mentioned above that fits in, has the basic skills and knows and practices the fundumentals of the game. Hitting cutoffs etc and keeping into the limits of his game.

For example an outfield that trys to throw home when he should hit the cutoff man because he can't reach home anymore but won't admit it to himself. These type of players I don't want on my team.

I want the player that knows his limits and uses his experience and skills to compensate.

i would have to say ,average ,with great personality, that is a great team player. chemistry is the most important thing for having successful teams, at least successful for many years as a team.it helps if they have talent ,but if they don't mesh with the rest what good is the talent. i have got rid of many talented great players, because they were either stuck on them selves, and thought they were the team and didn't need any one else, and criticized everyone. don't need them. give me a average player with team attitude, the basic skills, and knows the fundamentals of the game and we will win games and have fun at the same time.

A player who can, run, hit, field, and most of all smile and laugh at himself & be accepted for laughing at his team mates, whether they are winning or losing.
