Dec. 31 Tater50 Men's 60 336 posts | What is a Must!!! What chores have to accomplished before you go to a SSB Tourney? You either demand this of yourself or your wife request it! Or do you have any? Mine: I have a farm & have about 7 acres that I keep cut. I don't care if the games last long or whatever; I've already set that weekend aside to have my SSB elixir; but when I reenter the driveway; I want that grass to be cut & looking good. My Wife: she has no requests; just take care of myself & have a good time. Tater50 |
Dec. 31 Gary19 Men's 50 2609 posts | r All I have to do is make sure any bills due have been paid, and there is gas in whatever car I leave behind. |
Dec. 31 Tater50 Men's 60 336 posts | r I know a couple of guys that take their wives & they stop along the way to visit shops. My wife never attends so I go & do whatever!! Usually do not go out to eat too much at tourneys due to the economic situation. Tater50 |

Dec. 31 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | r tater i have a travel kit(bath, dry food stuffs, and such)if i have to stay over nite(like most senior tourney's)i go to priceline.com and look for a cheap room.i have most of texas, where i play mostly, down to getting rooms by bidding at priceline and getting them for $25 or 30.these are the extended stay America's and have kitchenettes,so i pack some food also.no matter what tourney i play(kids or seniors),i'll pack me some sandwiches and nibbling treats(candy, trail mix, etc). this all gets loaded up the nite before, except maybe the perishable food, which is stacked in the fridge, for packing in the morn before i take off.oh i also bring my own espresso machine,LOL.... |
Dec. 31 GaCMan 86 posts | r Hey Tater hows the rooster? For me have to make sure someone is here to look after the livestock, wife makes no demands. She does like to go with me which is fine by me i like my bed warmer doesn't cramp my style. She loves to watch us play and she is an excellant score keeper. |
Dec. 31 Tater50 Men's 60 336 posts | r GaCMan Rooster?? The boy is going thru a molting period!! He's impotent though; cannot get any chicks out of him!!! Duh!! Going to move him up to the house & make a GUARD ROOSTER out of him!! Already preparing a sign for visitors: Beware!!! Rhode Island Red Impotent Rooster w/Depressed Sexual Frustrated Attitude on Guard: Tread Softly!!! I can see your situation: got other livestock besides the Chickens? MadDog: I either stock up on canned goods @ Big Lots/Dollar Stores before the tourney or buy @ the tourney. I love eggs, so I get some extras @ the motel breakfast every morning; put them in the fridge & snack on them all day. Amazing how much money you can save!! Tater50 |
Dec. 31 ShaneV Men's 55 393 posts | r Some great ideas guys. I'm going to pack my own food and snacks in 2011 to save some $. And I'm going to try Priceline for rooms next time. I've done well with Expedia for longer out-of-state trips and the occasional coupons they give me but sound like bidding could beat that. I heard recently that flights may cost us more in 2011. With Rock-N-Reno, Western in Yolo County and all of our local events, will probably drive except for Phoenix. I hope this economy doesn't get any worse, for everyone's sake! I'm like Gary19, pay the bills (billpay), gas up her car and head out. ShaneV |
