mck71.....yep.....find your strike pitch first...then go to improvising......as far as the backspin pitch...it was the one i used all the time till i hurt my shoulder....and i could locate it pretty good and always had good height with it.....some batters thought it was to high...oh well....LOL.....umps didn't....now i need to learn how to throw a curve on purpose...can throw knuckle...but the curve only by accident....

so find your strike pitch first..is great info....

looking for a team list on who is going to this tourney.....mostly the 65's.....hope we don't have such the big field(4 teams 65-AA) we had at the tx states...don't want to have to do another 3-dayer.....

yeah larry...its only tourney ball why get in shape to play more than a couple games a day......on our last day(fri) 1 team could play 4 games in our bracket larry...mmmm guess they messed up on that scheduling.......but hey we get to spend for 3 nites instead of 2 for lodging and eating......JB meaningless....games...that never happens.....

but hey we at least get to spread it out over 3 days for 4 teams(65AA),3 teams (65M),2 teams (65AAA).....also total of only 9 teams for the 70/75 group.......

well hell dave since your in such a good mood....how about putting us on fields 1&2 for the entire tourney.....they both are 300' fields.....will make it very easy for us old guys to remember where we play......oh and potty close by.....as you do say 5-7 are not real good fields for mens play.....field 3 is just ok...and yes it has a high fence at 285'....but with 65 and older on it this past weekend seen plenty of balls go over....

still left with 8 fields....you say 5-7 are to short...why then is 3 being used.....we still can play 4 games on the last day...would rather we do it when fresh...like first day then that........there can only be a max of 9 games played total by any team and that is if ya lose your first elim game and come back and play in the double dip game......and why book venues we can't fully use also.......why...

well gots to love it....we have a 4 team bracket (65AA) for texas states and ssusa has decided we need 3 days to do it....really......come on....so we now get to pay for an extra day of hotel's.....and oh we are the big bracket for the 65's....the other's are a 2 team...and 3 team....yep 9 teams total for 65's......and the 70-75's have just 9 teams....this complex is an 11 field complex.......why.......

#19 ..way better than the houston complex...so that would kick austin into the great section......compared to most they are above avgerage for play....unless you guys have destroyed them already....LOL......

screamer...only game in town....what do ya do then......have to play at least one of his tourney's to get qual'd for vegas.....and are you satisfied with getting only 3/5 of a product when you buy something and pay full price....i'm not...and most likely your not.....but hey if you are......your welcome to my business anytime.....more profit for me......and its not just a few bad weeks...this is a constant for him.....

Discussion: Which .44 375 To Use

stew44....not sure/or why how that info was given to ya....but the 44/375 are suppose to be the max cor/compression.....now baden did have some mislabeled balls back a few yrs ago that they were trying to sneak thru that just outright flew like rockets when hit....but the 47/550's(actually prolly 575) they say they are should of been going real well as that is the back in the day (pre 2003) cor/compression of softballs we used to used before plastic bats....now we did used this ball when the ultra's first came out and it was dicey on the mound.....might wanna check your source again.....

the fields have been great to play on for the last 10 years.....thats how long i have lived in texas......and they redid them just a few yrs back......as for playing 3 days with no more than 6 teams in a bracket...that is completely ridicules.....when we get to vegas for worlds we do 3 days for way bigger team brackets....and with all the fields they have for tx states that should be no problem for a 2-day tourney......

wow...so SPA has gone to a dead ball...the badens they use to use were great...still have a 1/2 dz of them for non-sanction tourneys that require 44-375's.......glad we are not playing SPA this yr....but hey the trump is not better in the heat...

Discussion: NSA (52/275) and ASA (52/300) Ball Review

i agree with tattooball....we use the tattoo(not the NX3 yet tho) for our leagues and most every other team does...still trying to talk the coach into the NX3 ball..but he has a supply of the regular tattoo AD Starr balls..also what the local sporting goods store sells.....we have hit the NX3 ball in bp(we have only a couple of them)and they are holding up real good.

wayne37...not the first time he has bolted from the fields at a tourney he has run.....a player fell out b/c of heat in college station a few yrs back..and he was no where to be found along with any director type.....players did the emerg call.....also it was prolly a grand kid he went to see...as i don't think he has any youngens...his kids are grown...from what i remember....
