BruceinGa,
Did you ever get to hit with Todd (Swingmechanics)?

No, when the weather was nice in Dec he had the flu. We haven't had a nice day since. I did view his video and was very impressed. His nervousness showed but he still delivered plenty of good info. He talked about the alignment of the knuckles, high leg kick, leading with you back pocket, releasing you top hand at contact and much more.
I would highly recommend it.

My friend has his video and I watched it as well. I think that this video is one of the best around and I would also recommend it to anyone.

Releasing the top hand can add to the ball speed and distance. I know a guy that hits the ball out a long way.
Be careful though, I tried it and nearly killed 4 guys when the bat flew out of my left hand and traveled about 100 feet. Result, I do not use the top hand release.
Have a good year.

In my 30 years of softball, I have lost the bat only once. I was trying to hit to the opposite field with power and nearly hit the guy on deck with the bat. I have learned to control the bat when going to the opposite field.
