Aug. 9, 2011 Marv19 Men's 60 498 posts | SCSSA Tournament in Temecula / Results August 6-7-2011: First of I want to thank the City of Temecula Chamber of Commerce for the outstanding weather. Low to mid 90s both days and spectacular views of the mountains. Cool breeze in the afternoon. It couldn't have been better. 20 teams showed for this one and everybody got 5 games in. Shout out to Coasters for coming in from Santa Barbara and The guys from Greco Az Hitmen who won the $50 long distance award. The park couldn't have been in better shape. If you haven't played in Temecula it's a real treat. Only hiccup was a flooded field on Sunday morning but thanks to Mike Adair from Double play Classic who took over as grounds keeper superintendent and worked his butt off for an hour we got back on track. All and All it was a great weekend for senior ball. C.U. Aug. 9, 2011 Marv19 Men's 60 498 posts | Thanks Ron. Was that a question? A: $50 bucks is up for grabs at all our tournaments for the team that travels the furthest. We use map quest from the managers address. Maybe we will see you in September. Rezults Realty from Vegas will be there? |
Aug. 9, 2011 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | Excellent competition this weekend in Temecula. DP55 played hard, but we were a little off after Prescott and with the level of competition in Temecula there was no room for error. My momma and daddy would be proud that I knew which end of the rake to hold. Too bad my most significant contributions this weekend was getting the water off the field. |
Aug. 9, 2011 Marv19 Men's 60 498 posts | Mike: I'm sorry I didn't get a pic of you doing the field. But after I took one of Gator there wasn't enough room anyway :O) Action pics are up on the home page. Kool shots of the park as well. |

Aug. 9, 2011 Tate22 Men's 60 280 posts | Marv - while Mike evidenced his agrarian roots as a groundskeeper, you forgot to mention that Mango the Magnificent also lent a hand with the rake, as a former high school baseball coach he is well schooled in the raking arts. In fact, I have a picture of he and Mike on the job to prove it. Great job on the tournament, well run event in a great facility. Teams should make a point of participating in your events to fill out their schedules. Don Newhard Nighthawks |
