From some of the messages I've read
comes 'why did SSUSA wait this long to take some action.'
I said this months/years ago
as SSUSA alone has responsibility for the operation of this site.
It says disparaging content is not allowed.
Yet, it allows Gary C whose ENTIRE THRUST is disparaging to continue
to and through today?

Why DID SSUSA take their time?
It's become obvious to me
in order to control and punish me
for being a proverbial thorn in their side.
We have openly and behind the scenes disagreed about much
from the past to the present.
But I'm not going anywhere.

We are the senior softball community that lives and coninues to grow
irrespective of SSUSA or this website.
We know what's going on and whose who.
We aren't going anywhere, either.

You, SSUSA, cannot create an entity that serves human beings
and then abdicate responsibility for it's standards of operation
that would protect itself from unnaccountale outsiders and attacks.
And then you employ what middle school teachers use
to gain control of adolescents.
You punish and remove entire threads to get "peer pressure" to control
individuals and we're not supposed to be and feel demeaned and abused?

You call my behavior childish
for defending and protecting myself and the community
from filthy, disrespectful and unaccountable behavior?
That's not only inappropriate
it would be considered condescending by most of us.

You have much to learn about me and us,
those who are and comprise the real men and women
of senior softball.
Perhaps if you listened or learned to listen
we all would be better served.

And as db pointed out
where's the disrespecter of over 2000 terrific men
and women in all this?
Is that not disparaging or disrespecting enough?
Were any of his posts ever removed?

I have a couple thoughts for both of you, since it may be my last chance to say anything to you here.
garyc-you stated in a removed thread that this board is a huge joke to you. From those of us that are trying to get the readership and participation up so we can really use this as a viable forum to communicate ideas to SSUSA, what was it that kept you here. Was it just going after Einstein?? Were you sincerely attempting humor and none of us got it?? What did you gain??
Einstein-when I first came on I recognized your intelligence and your passion for the game. Although repetitive and incredibly wordy, you were a positive for the message board. However, you let the personal issues overtake the message you had. Instead of ignoring the poster(s) that were possibly just on to attack you, you felt you had to respond to EVERY LITTLE POST that ran against anything YOU believe in. The more you did this the worse you got, to even disparaging SSUSA just because you felt they did not protect you. Then, from you posts, even SSUSA became your enemy and you, in your anger, got it in your head that you speak for the 'vast majority' of us. THIS IS JUST A MESSAGE BOARD TO BLOG ABOUT SOFTBALL, TRADE IDEAS, AND IT COULD BE USED TO COMMUNICATE THOSE IDEAS TO SSUSA. We can speak for ourselves. Look hard at the thread that SSUSA posted with your warnings. You need to realize, by fighting on every thread, calling names, cussing, answering EVERY post from those you did not agree with (mostly garyc), you lumped yourself with him in the minds of most of the guys here. You did it to yourself, nobody did it for you. Had you just stopped responding, it probably would have gone away. Now, unfortunately, the two of you have become a total distraction by dominating EVERY THREAD with your personal argument. I look forward to the board becoming a true discussion board again. I also hope that some of the guys that just read and don't get involved will feel they can say something without fear that their ideas will be malevolently attacked.
I have learned from the convention that SSUSA DOES LISTEN to us. They sit down and debate and discuss rules, changes, propositions, ideas, and a lot of the time the reasons that something doesn't change is because someone showed a good reason to not change it right then, but to consider it further. It is amazing that something that seems to be a sure thing to you, gets upended when 15-20 men think about the ramifications of the idea. Ask Dave Dowell last year about one of his ideas. I urge everyone to go to a convention to see the process, and put in their opinions.

What I said was you guys act like this is serious.
Were old men trying to hang on and play the game we grew up loving
(BASEBALL) I can't play that anymore so I play softball.
I go to tournaments and some teams don't even have uniforms that match.
Come on remember when we were young this is what the girls played.
I am not trying to offend you guys this is how I look at softball. It's fun to play but you guys are turning it into little league.
Webbie, birdie, If you want to think like Joe when it comes to softball you have every right but you have no right to get upset with me for thinking IT'S ONLY SENIOR SOFTBALL.

Nothing I said we vulgar on this thread
but SSUSA has an interest in seeing me as a vulgar
contributor.
I'm up against the guys who run this website
and their prerogative and authority rules.
But it doesn't make them right about anything.
And they are dead wrong about me.

I am judged by the senior softball community
independent of this site and those who administrate
and any of it's vulgar or ignorant clowns
(of which there are only a few).
I will continue to play and say to my heart's content
with whomever and whenever I chose.
We're in SPA this weekend coming in Reno
and looking forward to having a blast.

To a lot of guys it is serious-maybe to the point some think at our age it is all they have left. To me it is fun, and I try to have fun on the board-bad puns, off center comments, but I also want to be part of improving our game.If you have read, that's what I told Einstein a couple times-gee, it is only a message board for Senior Softball. You're right, the girls played it, but it has gone way past that game now and is recreation for thousands. I don't think like Joe, but we do want to make the game as enjoyable as we can, and this forum can help with that. SSUSA puts the board out here (operative phrase) to keep their finger on the pulse of the game. Gary, if you don't like the board, you don't have to be here. It is voluntary. We are trying to find an identity for it, I guess, but the name calling and meanness does not have to happen.I've played a lot of baseball, too and played some as recent as last year. I just don't have time and money to do both.

No man gets or should get a pass
on being personally disrespectful to any other man,
Mark.
It's that simple.
We need to be defended from unnaccountable,
characterless attacks whenever they might occur.
And if the administrators of this website won't
then we are left to do it for ourselves.

We are a community before and after SSUSA's website
and the rules which identify and unify us
need to be reflected by anyone wishing to serve us
or curry our favor.
The greater their or anyone's distance from us
the less apt and successful their attempts to relate with
and employ us will be.

But sometimes, Einstein, you weigh the threat to you. The threat was minimal until you would not let it go. If you were so sure that the 'attack' by one man was so strong that it would impugn your reputation, then you certainly had no confidence in that reputation. Why not? You will not make it far through the rest of your life if you have to go after anyone that says anything against you or any organization that you might feel you represent. You will spend all of your time defending that perceived reputation and have no time for anything else. Some things need to be ignored. In your case you would have been much better off to have ignored garyc. Your reputation would not have suffered so much-and it has-reread that thread from SSUSA. One person defended you, only one.

Joe the whole world is not against you.
The problem is you think you never do anything wrong. If it was just me that you went after it could be my fault and in ways I am as guilty as you. You think the staff is after you and anyone who does
not agree with you is after you. I got the same warning that you got but I accepted that I was at fault as much as you.You think It's all me. You called me things that were just as bad as what I called you but you won't look in the mirror and admit that you went overboard also.

On Aug 28 you post" agree with the staff I was a bad boy."

On Aug 29 you post "How's this guys. I love my bat. I can hit the ball farther than you. Want to see a picture of my grand kids. Just found a great hemorrhoid cream. Can't wait to go to the next tournament so I can get away from my wife.
Who's the best pitcher in softball?
I don't know but that Arrogant Andy can really lob that ball. Now can I play with you super posters who know everything?"

You are a class act!!!!

Come on SSUSA, what are you waiting for?

Perly, your just stirring the pot. If Gary or Joe get reprimanded, so be it. But you're justthrowing fuel on the fire. Have you notice the board has been considerably different the last week? Both of them I' sure are good folks that got a little carried away. Not unless your looking for Gary to change and start venting on you.

mad dog, I read the thread.

Pricer, GaryC can vent on me whenever he likes. I love the liberal attitude you guys have. Just another example of what's wrong with the world. Don't hold anyone accountable for their actions.

It's great how you say I'm stirring the pot and throwing fuel on the fire with my one statement when GaryC has been stirring the pot for weeks and maybe months, but I guess that's ok with you!!!!!!!!

Get real.

no it is not ok perly, but you picked a thread that gary posted in that has nothing to do with anything but a bunch of us just posting whatever we felt like posting,no names what so ever were used,or anyone cussed out.it is a fun thread to,just post in,if you like you can even go over there and post some nonsense if you like.

so what you quoted him for saying has nothing to do with anything but that thread, but you decided stirring the pot is good, as pricer says.....

OK Perly, let's just be blunt here. Stay out of the beef between the two of them. I apoligize if I offended you, but it's none of your's or my business. If there's something you did'nt like on how SSUSA handled this, take it up with them. Your just throwing stones. Also,I'm no liberal. You and Gary venting on each other should be a new thread, maybe you should start one. I think thats how everyone on here would want it. JMO

Pricer & mad dog,

You guys talk about me stirring the pot and staying out of the beef between GaryC and einstein.

Read the threads titled "Please please pretty please" dtd 8/27, "we're simply amazed it's come to this" dtd 8/27 and "Poll on discussion & posters" dtd 24 Aug.

Where were you two advising folks to stay out of the argument and accusing people of stirring the pot on those threads.

I don't know or care if GaryC or einstein are banned. However, when they post on this site it's everyone's business. They make it so by going public.

Obviously you two and I have a different point of view. No problem, I'm not going to change your opinion nor you mine.

Perly, I chose not to post in that thread because my thoughts were it's a dead issue. SSUSA has spoken and anymore bashing would just lead to more hard feelings. Also, I have avoided any controversial threads. The dialog here has been pretty good lately. No mass, no mass.
