Sept. 6, 2011 Joe Bush Men's 75 27 posts | They should let us know what teams are going to any tournament in advance. |
Sept. 7, 2011 doker Men's 60 185 posts | THEY DO LET US KNOW!!! BUT ONLY AFTER A TEAM HAS PAID AND SOMETIMES THAT IS QUITE LATE....CAN'T SAY A TEAM IS COMING IF THEY HAVEN'T PAID!!!...SSUSA DOES A PRETTY GOOD JOB OF THIS BUT U HAVE TO PULL UP THE TOURNEY SITE TO GET THE TEAM NAMES AND BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE THIS INFO DOESN'T COME UNTIL THE LAST WEEK OR TWO BEFORE THE TOURNEY.....JUST LOGISTICS!!!...REALLY HARD TO LIST THE TEAM BEFOREHAND....I EMPATHIZE WITH YOU...BUT... |
Sept. 7, 2011 SSUSA Staff 3491 posts | Historically, except for the World's and the TOC, over 50% of teams that enter an SSUSA Tournament do so in the last week. Many of those submit their entry fee on (or even after) the entry 'soft deadline' (yours was in yesterday's mail, exactly on the deadline day). We consider a team officially in the tournament at the time we receive their entry fee. To publish a team list before the deadline is misleading, since the 'numbers' aren't there yet due to the last-minute influx. In the past, teams have looked at an early list and said "...there's nobody coming, so we're not going either..." and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. The procedure now is to contact any team that has entered and not yet paid as of the deadline, get their intentions (and payment, if needed), then publish the team list. That should happen by Friday, 9/9/11. Since your question appears to be specifically in regards to the upcoming Northeast Championships in Cape May, the entry deadline passed yesterday (9/6/11) and we are in the final verification process. We can tell you that confirmed/paid entries this year already exceed last year's total team attendance. |
