April 8, 2012 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: ON MY HONOR 3 It is a sad commentary that some people feel the need to get an unfair advantage....I agree that a lifetime ban should be used!!!!! |

Jan. 31, 2012 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: The reason I play Softball Bruce....Glad to hear that you were not hurt too badly from that shot that you took at third. By the way ..Who won the tournament? |
Jan. 30, 2012 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: The reason I play Softball I would like to say that it was a real pleasure to play in Tampa this past weekend. It reaffirmed my commitment to Senior Softball!!! I can't tell you how enjoyable it was to compete against some of the best players in the country. I thought that the sportsmanship was outstanding and yet it was extremely competitive without the ridiculous bantering that goes on in some levels of softball. I can't say that my team not winning every game was as enjoyable as winning would have felt but I truly had a good time.......My team will be back and hopefully we will put on a better show.....and as always Bruce .....You and your team ruined a good plan!!!! |
Jan. 20, 2012 Mr. Manassas | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Breaking up a SPA Nat. Champion to stay in Majors, how many players can a team keep and still not move up? I have been on many teams that win a tournament and have been moved up. The absolute biggest problem is the fact that often in the Major plus division there is no one to play and you feel like the bastard child that no one wants. The tourney directors want your money so they contrive some kind of mini event for you and send you home early. I think that the solution lies in creating some kind of handicap that can be applied to the teams that win most aften and combine some classifications. |
Jan. 10, 2012 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: For the guys who still play with the kids....... Doesn't have to be epidemic. If it happens once to the "ole" guy it can be life altering....It is not life or death!!! |
Dec. 26, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Rules of the Game-Love them I respectfully disagree. I think that you can still make it difficult for the batter by how you attack the mat/zone. I cannot tell you how many umpires that I have had that look straight down at the area behind the plate and call a ball or strike regardless of where it crossed the plate. |

Dec. 26, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: For the guys who still play with the kids....... I guess that being in disagreement with someone is really not a problem. We are all entitled to our opinions. That being said.....There is no perfect game and yet we still play............Merry Christmas!!!!!! |
Dec. 26, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Rules of the Game-Love them Nothing wrong with the mat and I pitch. It does seem to standardize the strike zone at least a little across the country. It does take away the sweeping curve to the outside but gives it back to the inside. I like it when I am up to bat because it keeps that umpire who likes to call the deep strike from making you swing at balls over your head. |
Dec. 26, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: For the guys who still play with the kids....... Gary...Rules change all the time and will continue to do so in all divisions...There is nothing wrong with that ...It is the nature of "Human" games. I stopped playing with the young guys last year at the age of 60. The "Senior" game for me is outstanding, the players make it so..... Why do you object so strongly to everything that you feel is a change? Change happens all the time...YOU can't be upset all the time ...Are you??? |
Nov. 24, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: Product review Discussion: pitchers shin guards and facemask I wear modified Hockey shin guards. They go on fast and provide adequate protection. |
Nov. 19, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: Bats Discussion: ASA Bats I was under the impression that one did not have to identify oneself unless he wanted to. Is there some shame involved. |
Nov. 16, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: Bats Discussion: ASA Bats Gary19.....It is truly amazing.......You have an opinion on everything!!!! The new Reb. (asa) with the hole in it is pretty good. We tested it at our BP club. |
Nov. 4, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Knee replacement thoughts I had both knees replaced and my two cents on the matter is that the rehab is more important than the actual operation. I had the use of a pool and in addition to the formal rehab I simulated the motions that you use in a game in the water...including the running motion. I used the pool 5 days a week. |
Nov. 4, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Phoenix Worlds I do think that some of the umps were letting the pitchers go a bit too high.(13-15) They were generally consistant and that is all you can ask for but I do think that a lot of the umps need to check out what 12 feet really is. I know that it is a tough job...having to call the pitch moments after it is released. |
Oct. 28, 2011 Mr. Manassas | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Safety Questions It's not just the equipment!!! It has something to do with our AGE!!! Reactions are slower and healing is slower. I personally like to play and not have to sit out while I heal from some injury,...Just my two cents.... |
