I will not do so if I hit the middle! I do not apologize to the SS if I hit it at him. I am trying to get a hit!!! The middle is a part of the game!!

Life is too short...Enjoy the game and the people who are still playing!!!!!!!!!!!!! If there is a rule that you can use to win use it... It would be stupid to not use the rules to your advantage...Some of you talk as if Moses brought the rules of the game down with the Ten Commandments.......Just a comment...........
July 11, 2011 Mr. Manassas	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Player Poll Why make a big deal about runners anyway...Who cares...It is a rule just like any other. Our team has guys that are good runners and that is one of the main reasons that we are successful...What is the harm?????I get a runner almost everytime I get on, even after an extra base hit...I have two knee replacements...At the very least by having runners it increases the number of people that can enjoy the game.
July 11, 2011 Mr. Manassas	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Blowing up the middle in Senior Softball - are screens next??? I am a pitcher and I hit the middle sometime to get a hit. The middle is no different to me than any other spot on the field. I have never tried to hit anyone, pitcher included, and I would not expect anyone to try and hit me. And at the same time I do not want any player to avoid hitting the middle if they think that they can get a hit.

July 6, 2011 Mr. Manassas	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: why do we need seeding games I think that seeding games are great! It gives teams time to let all their players state their case for starting in the DE part of the tournament as well as giving you time to get acclimated to the surroundings. I do think some consideration needs to be given to the schedule in the DE tournament so that some teams are not playing too many games in a single day.

To be honest with you I do not think that the call for stepping out of the box should be made at all...I don't see the advantage for the batter.

It still is a lot of fun especially without the pain. You may need to adapt some but you have been doing that your whole life to some degree.

June 16, 2011 Mr. Manassas	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Option to withdraw???? It is amazing to me that we put up with some of the "stuff" in tournaments considering the entry fees that we pay. Poor quality balls(I almost hate to say that), umpires that act bored that they are there, rediculous time schedules,etc. I know that putting on tournaments can be trying but some consideration should go to the consumer. Bruce...you're comments about having no one to play should be a "no brainer" as far as getting your money back.
June 12, 2011 Mr. Manassas	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Pitching Arc Limits I think that alot of umpires have a certain amount of difficulty betweeen 5'6" and 6" as would all of us I assume. It is the batter's job to deal with every umpires version of the strike zone. We all hope that the umpire will at least be consistant. I think that some of the problems lie with the fact that many of us are way more committed to the game than alot of umpires....I still think that most of them are trying to do the best that they can....Just my two cents...

June 6, 2011 Mr. Manassas	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: xReno 2011 50, 55s OOOHHH....I can not tell you how upset it makes me to have someone tell me that if I just throw the ball so that the hitter can pound it I won't get hurt!!!!!! I thought that softball is a competitive game and the purpose was to beat the other team.(It kind of makes the game fun for everyone!!)My comment to anyone who wants to hurt someone is that you are ....................Just fill in the blank!!!!
March 12, 2011 Mr. Manassas	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Which Is Tougher? I think that there is another factor in making playing IF in softball tougher. There will be many more balls hit on the sweet spot in slowpitch than in baseball.
