Discussion: New HR rules

I think it's worth trying for a season to see if it cut down on up the middle shots when the Hr limit is reached. If a AAA player has the power to hit the long ball he shouldn't have to "change his swing or hit up the middle". You don't punish a golfer for hitting long of the tee. Some may say the long ball hitter should play Major. Some areas don't have Major teams.

There really are times when hitters don't "try" to hit it out and it happens.

Give it a try before you give up on it.

Discussion: Washington 60's AAA team looking for a few outfielders

Aro Glass Clubbers are looking to add a couple of outfielders. We play league at the Rac in Lacey on Wednesday nights and will play local tournament and at least 2 national tournaments.
Must be "Good guy" A/Holes need not apply !

We have also had this play. Touch third and just starting running home with the ball in hand. The runner either has the choice of being tagged out by you or once he pass the line he is forced out by an easy toss to the catcher.

Discussion: Bracket results

I noticed the order of finish was posted for all divisons, i.e top three. In the past we have been able to look at the entire bracket play. I would like to know how other teams from our area did and how teams that we beat or teams that beats us did. We played 60 AAA. How did R&R and Master Mauraders finish? They are both very good teams and both played Sunday winners bracket.

Discussion: Phoenix

Couldn't agree more. We played the late game on Friday. Got out of there about 10:30. Our game on Saturday didn't finish until after 11:00 PM. The winner (not us) had to play the following morning at 0800hrs. Maybe when we were older, early 20's, we could do this but were younger now (Byrds) and have a hard time. We played a team that started at 0730 and their last game started at 2230hrs.

Also there was water at the fields but at least one of the fountains in the dugouts did not work very well.

Very good umpires !

Discussion: Vegas 60's AA ?

Cabs,

Thanks for the clarification. I have never based anything on "rumors". The other rumor was Aro had the advantage because we are from the Washington State and were use to the heat!!! Wow it was hot .

Discussion: Vegas 60's AA ?

Couple of teams showed up at the Vegas Masters as 60 AA and got moved up after seeding games. One team from Tucson, Skate8 (?), scored 44 runs against a Aro Glass. Aro had to spot them 5 runs. The tournament directors move them and another team up to AAA for bracket play. Someone said they where the OTD team from AZ. OTD won Worlds last year as a AAA and are rated as a Major according to SSUSA. I don't know the team or if this is true or not. Anyone know the real story if there is one. Credit the directors for taking action.

Discussion: Anyone Alive In Washington State?

Webbie 25,
Aro Glass is alive and well in the 60AAA divison.
We had around nine 60's on last years 55AAA team. That was the team you played in PHX and Reno. At the end of the season we all agreed we should move up to 60's. It was a hard decision because the younger guys were not only teamates but friends. They had no problem with the move up and some had even suggested it.

We still manage to play the Sunday games so we are doing alright

If you played with Sigillo you probably played with Stan and Tommy. They won the SSUSA Dancing contest at last years Worlds. Although they are celebrities they are very modest about thier accomplishments. Sigillo has a great bunch of guys on the team.

Aro Glass Clubbers will be there again. AAA 60's. We played at Arroyo Grande last year. One of the safer areas to play in.

Discussion: Western Nations. The good the bad and the ugly

Played in Woodland on (2) Soccer fields and two hard ball fields one of which, field B, had 350" fences according to the locals. This complex does not even come close to the RAC at Lacey WA.

Umpires: Some were lazy and got paid the same as the really good ones, Reggie and those that worked with you were great and made the game fun and not about the umpires.

The tournament ran on time and was a credit to Dave and company

Shane I know you do a lot of work for our league and tournaments up here and Yes you do a great job. I was just foolin with ya.

Two years ago we played in Vegas up past Summerlin. There were bars on all the windows of stores and some homes. After the first day someone broken into the photographer's trailer he left parked at the field. They stole his lap top, Senior photos etc
So some dirt bag had some great photos of senior softball players. Bet he got a lot of good dope for that trade.

Shane, I know you do a lot but did you run that tournament too? Don't be such a sensitive guy. I have played at Chaves and I think hearing all the car alarms going off at night would also be a distraction

db14 don't understand the bash on mslacool. The guys telling you what he's got. He must have it cause he's going have to walk the talk when he gets there. Players moving to a new area have to talk about their skills. Most likely no one knows him so this his chance to get his foot in the door and shown them what he's got. Good luck mslacool. I had to try out for a local team in AZ when I was down there last month.

Discussion: Aro Glass Clubbers moving to 60's

Come on Shane look at all the fun you would miss if you didn't do all the work! Your a great organizer. Just so there is no misunderstanding. The 5 guys on last years ARO team that are not moving up to 60's encouraged us to move up to 60's with their blessing. I think they got tired of running for us all the time :). They are all great players and better people.
