Just noticed that NY Motion is not on the
Las Vegas team list.

In fact none of the 55AAA teams (4) that
played in the Eastern are coming.

That is diaappointing...

So seeding will be #1 to #52? There will be no separation
of East & West at the start of bracket play. Some old guy
I know was probably reading too much into this.

Discussion: When to change pitchers

These may be somewhat obvious to most:
One strategy I've seen used effectively, as soon as your
opponent appears to get comfortable with your current
pitcher, switch. Also when choosing your starting pitcher,
go with the one your opponent has seen the least, or if
they've seen them all many times, the one they struggle with
most, pretty obvious.

And if your pitchers don't struggle with multiple switches
you might keep your opponent off balance through 7 innings.

Who has the horsepower to take on a 450+ team tournament? LVSSA/SSUSA, that's who. No doubt it's going to be a
challenge in every possible way, but you can bet they are gearing up with every resource they have to pull this off!

Heard about this around the time the merger was announced. Nearly all venues in Las
Vegas are going to have 70' bases for World Masters coming up. Las Vegas is an NSA
town and mandate 70' and all the venues they "control".

We're playing "Road to Las Vegas" open event here in Lacey this weekend, so we're going
to do 70' bases to get used to it.

You are welcome. Note that I forgot to say
"unofficial". I'm a local director and
know a bit about these rules but the
knowledge came from being in similar
situations as a manager and asking questions
until I fully understood, just like you're
doing. Keep asking!!!

Syracuse is a qualifier. Get all your guys (for Vegas) to
that tournament and then use that roster as your chosen
Qualifier for Vegas - good to go. If you have someone who
played in another qualifier, including Eastern, and cannot
make it to Syracuse, simply let SSUSA know when you choose
the Syracuse roster as your Qualifying roster, that you
wish to add this/these additional "regular" players to your
Vegas roster. There are additional rules you can find on
the rules page. See "World Championships Roster
Considerations & Rules (pdf)".

Discussion: Practice fields in Aurora

Our hotel is close to Kennedy Ballfields (exit #5 - exit #4)
and the largest field looks to be 285' or so. We'll probably hit Friday morning around 10:00. We don't play
until 3:30 & 5:00 so we have plenty of time to chill then
head to Aurora Sports Park. Our whole division plays at
8:00am Saturday so no time to hit again.

Discussion: Throwing

A friend and former pitcher taught me years ago how
important it is to focus on using your forearm strength.
Many have a tendancy to focus on shoulder throwing but the
extra push you can achieve pushing the ball with forearm-
wrist-fingers has helped me with distance and accuracy. I
use rubber bands and some weights to strengthen the
throwing shoulder and avoid shoulder problems. Playing in
the cold for years my shoulder used to always hurt. Not so
anymore. Used to play 6 months of the year and nothing the
other 6 months.

In senior ball we are active from February to October, and
the off-season is half what it used to be. I find less time
to get out of shape helps, just enough time to rest and
heal.

Likely cannot hit on soccer fields, most will
no allow it.

On the satellite view I found 3 complexes
within a few miles of our hotel:

Closest one is Olympic Park, another is
Kennedy Ballfields and there is another one
near the intersection of E Mississippi and
S. Buckley.

And be sure to stop my the Cinemark Century Aurora 16 and leave some flowers!!!
Seriously, it's just off the 225 at exit #8.

Discussion: EASTERN NATIONALS 50AAA NOT GETTING 5GAME GUARANTEE

Say seed #1 loses game #4. Loser game #3 plays loser game #4 in game #7. Loser game #7 plays winner of game #6 IF necessary to get their 5GG.

Say seed #2 (or seed #7) loses game #3. They play in game #7 and if they win they go on. If they lose then they play winner of game #6 IF necessary to get their 5GG.

Dave does make mistakes, but not this time.

Discussion: 5 run spot that allows 6 runs per inning to lower rated teams

Plano, your well described argument includes only an analysis of the math, and offense in general. Consider that the higher rated team IS hitting at a lower rated defense, and the lower rated team is hitting at a higher rated defense. That is the other half of the analysis, and half of the reason for the awarded "equalizer" runs.
