Discussion: SSUSA Card

Question for the SSUSA STAFF. My card expires at the end of October 2015 and I was trying to renew my card for the next season but the SSUSA STAFF said I couldn't renew my card until November for the 2016 Season. So that being said how will I and new players to Senior Softball get thier Cards before Winter Worlds in November? You should be able to renew your cards anytime. The deadline for Winter Worlds is Oct 27th

5 game guarantee ROCKS!!!...I tell the youngsters in there 20-30's that I play USSSA with and they say they can't wait to play SENIOR SOFTBALL they hate 2 and Q. I myself won't waste i'm time on a 2 and Q tournament unless it's in my back yard...IMO

5 game guarantee is great!!!! More games to play...pool play is important for seeding....the only thing about seeding I don't like is the higher seeded teams should have the choice of home or visitors...not a coin flip...also you should rotate your players to stay fresh.... It's not a sprint is a marathon.

Discussion: One up Rule in the Open Inning!!!

Thanks for all your comments, I just believe going 1 up in the open inning would add a little more to this great game of ours. With the home team can only tie in homeruns with the 1 up rule in affect. Gonedeep43 if you have'nt hit any homeruns you would still be able to hit all of your homeruns up to your limit then only go 1 up if the other team has reached their limit.

That's a great point 17black the visiting team could go 1 up but the Home Team could only Tie the Homerun 1 up rule in the Open Inning...

It's always advantage to be the home team and that's why I think the higher seeded team should be home instead of a coin flip when comes to bracket play. To allow more Homeruns is always a good thing....DBO Homeruns thats the ticket...not.

I think we should go back to running out Homeruns....what is this golf...hit a tee shot and go back to your golf clubs. PATHETIC....hurry up rule might save 2 mintues a game...WOW

Thats when strategy comes into play if your visiting team thats the chance you take. What if you are the visiting team and your down 1 in homeruns and you hit 2 homeruns and the home team doesn't hit any and visiting team wins. There are a million what if's.... my point being it allows your team to hit 1 or 2 more homeruns towards the end of the game. Like some Teams are out of Homeruns in the 2nd inning. I think adding more excitement to the end of the game can omly make the game better than dead ball outs for Homeruns.

Discussion: Outfielder caught a flyball with a first baseman mitt?

3.6 Gloves may be worn by any player, but mitts may be used only by the catcher and first baseman. So if the catch is made with an illegal glove the batter is not out and it is the offensive managers option to accept the result of the play involving the illegal glove or to have the batter return to the plate and resume with the count previous to the hit. The fielder in question must change the glove and a second offense is an ejection. This Should be the ruling but I don't see it in the Senior Softball Rule book for 2015-2016 Season.

Discussion: Outfielder caught a flyball with a first baseman mitt?

I was playing in the Cinco De Mayo softball tournament this weekend and one of my teammate's hit a flyball to the outfield and was caught with a first baseman mitt and the umpire call him out and had the outfielder get a legal glove. I don't think that is the right call. I looked in the senior softball rules and a legal catch is a ball caught with a legal glove or hand anything else is as if the ball hit the ground. What should be the rule on that play?
