I have a 26 ounce and I prefer some flex in my bats(but not alot). I am going to keep swinging it in BP and hopefully when I get to about 400 swings it picks up in performance. Then again, I am comparing its performance to a 2019 Adidas Melee 12", which in my opinion is the best bat out there!

OZ, as a born and raised former Michigander, I hope to God you guys vote that dictator out of power next time she is up for reelection! She is giving my home state a bad name, and worse, destroying that states recovery over the last few years!!

That being said, I am still struggling with those that want these tournaments cancelled because they are afraid or unwilling to attend. That is YOUR personal choice, please allow the rest of us to make that same personal choice and decide whether we want to attend or not! Despite all the efforts of the democratic governors in this country, we are still free to make our own decisions! I will attend if we play, if that means bringing a chair then that is what I will do!

I had great initial results with the Easton Empire Ron Parnell, but it has quickly fallen out of favor with me. It is very stiff, and though I now have about 250 swings on it, it has not gotten any hotter. Overall for the money, I would have rather spent a few more bucks and went with the Suncoast 12" Melee!

OZ, Rick - Benjamin Franklin once said: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." I agree wholeheartedly with Mr Franklin! Too many people have too easily given up their personal liberties under the guise of this virus! The government now knows how easily they can control the sheeple by scaring them, well, I refuse to give up any of my God give, Constitution given rights!

I did not realize Demarini was already on their 2021 model releases, I just htought the 2021 mention above was a typo. Makes sense if they are last years model, but still very cheap considering it was $249 when it came out.

Anyone know what the issue is with the 2020 Demarini Larry Carter? It is on Direct Sports for $99.....That is a huge red flag for me!

I cannot agree with Brucesky more!! If you think it is too soon, then do not come. If you are not comfortable with the precautions in place, do not come. One thing I have learned from watching this comment board is that regardless of what SSUSA does, there are going to be a million people whining and complaining about how poorly they thought it out, how stupid it is, etc...

This is America, you have the freedom to make the choice to attend or not attend, let those that want to make the decision to attend, make that choice!

Upside to this is, it is no longer taking place on a holiday weekend so room rates on Airbnb are way down!

Look at the Tournament schedule, the 60's through 85's has been rescheduled for June 2nd - 4th. All other age groups and women is in the process and TBD.

I thi nk it is easy to say "move it back a month or so", and let's assume the fields are available and easy to secure, with all of the other scheduling gymnastics that happened earlier, when could they schedule this? I think the only option is to have it early June is cancel.

I think it is pretty simple, if you are afraid to play then don't, but if you are not afraid to play, get out there and enjoy! All the deliberation about how well or poorly SSUSA did their job to prepare to get back in action will not help. I applaud SSUSA for get us back on the field and I cannot wait to get out there and play competitive ball again!

The city of Sparks is not the tournament organizer, they cannot cancel the tournament, SSUSA will be the one to make that call. Sparks has just eliminated their fields as an option for SSUSA to use. Hopefully SSUSA can come up with a plan to utilize the fields in Reno and Carson City that are not yet closed, and get the entire tournament in!

Would be nice to hear something from SSUSA or the tournament organizers versus members having to speculate. Hopefully that will happen soon! Until then, I am going to plan on playing and prepare for the event as normal!

The new Melee's have not had a drop off, I am just not a fan of the thinner handle on the two piece as it is a bit whippy for me. the 2019 Melee 2-piece 12 inch is without a doubt my favorite bat, but the 2020 Empire is right behind it. I do not have any video of me hitting it, but Smash It Sports did their senior bat challenge and posted it on TouTube so you can see it their. The criteria to win was average exit velocity, the one piece Ron Parnell won the competition. That is no indicator of long term performance but for sure tells you what is really HOTW!

For those of you who have not been big fans of the Easton SSUSA bat offerings in previous years, you need to try out the new Empire line! Great bats, very hot our of the wrapper as well! I have hit Adidas for years, and these are every bit as hot as the 2019 Melee!

It is also important to note, that this year the tournament falls on a holiday weekend which also causes prices to be higher.

AirBnB prices are better right now that the hotel prices believe it or not! I got a 3 bedroom house, with a pool and hot tub for less than a hotel room.
