Go to www.exchangepark.net and click on SPA Tournaments. It looks like 13 teams so far in 60's and 10 in 50/55's. It's still early so more should be going.

Discussion: Glove Making

Check out kazumasports.com. I had them make a gove for me a couple of years ago. All sorts of color combos, web styles available, etc.. They have you place your glove hand on a sheet of paper and trace around your fingers and hand like you may have done in gradeschool. Then fax them the outline and they use that pattern to make the glove. Gloves are actually made in Japan so it will take about 3 weeks before you get it back. Cost is somewhere between $200 and $300 dollars.

Discussion: PRAYER REQUEST

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your own understanding". I've played with Bob and against him. I learned early on to hit where he isn't. I also learned what a great guy he is. Prayer is powerful and I am joining this "Prayer Team". Jesus loves you and so do we. Love, Jackson Williams

Discussion: how to win a ring

Interesting comments about the Ruth Realty Team. Last year I played for the Alabama 55's in AAA. We went to the USSSA Nationals in Panama City, FL and finished 2nd to Ruth Realty. They run ruled ever team they played including us twice. That national rating website had them rated as Major Plus. Guess who ran the USSSA tournament? Mr. Hennessy. Politics as usual.

Discussion: ASA National Update

I play with AMI and we won the 55 Major Division in Burlington last weekend. I agree that tournament was run really well. We beat the Florida Storm team in the final. Low scoring game at 7 to 6 in top of seventh we scored 8 runs and held Storm to 4 in the bottom half. During our awards presentations the players on Mican Florida team which had the next game were complaining because they had flights to catch and we were interfering with that.
Nonetheless, ASA put on a great tournament.

Discussion: time to bring the boys back

Interesting to see such a controversial subject being discussed by a bunch of old softball players. Let me chime in my two cents. Let's put us all on the same page by saying we are all Americans, softball players and supporters of our Troops. Half full, half empty, your team calls him out my team says he is safe. Where does all our information come from to develop our opinions. Each of us has his favorite TV channel with its talking heads. Republicans blame the Liberal Democrates for all the nations ills. The Democrates say it is the Republican Right Wings fault. Don't you realize it is all just propaganda trying to exploit and influence someones cause.? Listen to Fox News on a certain subject then switch over to CNN for their spin on the same subject. How can all these know it alls have such differing views?
We have maybe 40 thousand troops in the Gulf Coast now helping Americans. We have some 135 thousand Troops in Iraqi helping them. Our recruiting numbers for the military have decreased since the war started. Why is that? God help us if another disaster hits. We don't have any troops left to deploy. Do we really think that this war isn't about OIL? The middle east has been the focus of the universe since Jesus walked. The Bible talks about the middle east. Whats up with that? Are we safer now that Sadaam is gone? What ever happened to the guy that hit us, Osamin? I am a Vietnam Vet and my son is now in the Army waiting to be deployed to Iraq next month. I love and support my son, but hate and disagree with this war. Remember the old adage, "if their lips are moving they are lying"?. Welcome to politics...

Discussion: Armed Forced: Did you Serve?

Drafted 1969, Fort Polk, LA, 11 Bravo. Went to Nam in 1971, Cam Rahn Bay. Got early out to go back to school. Demonstrated a little against the war. Still a little bitter about how Americans treated us. Now, all military people are Heros just for showing up. I too respect and support the troops. Not the War.

Discussion: Heart Attack..Wake Up Call

I am 56 years old and had a heart attack in August of 04. Had a couple of stints put in but no major damage. I thought that I was in pretty good shape, only about 20 pounds overweight and some cholesterol issues. But nothing I thought serious. Like most of us, I felt bullet proof. Played a lot of ball in High School and College so I just figured I was automatically still in shape. Even though I can't run as fast, throw as hard or hit as far. Like most of us, I'd play maybe 4 or 5 games on a saturday coming thru the losers bracket and not ever worry about my heart. Please, everyone needs to WAKE UP, and get real. Start taking care of yourselves. Watch what you put into your body. Most of us take better care of our cars. Why wait for your Doctor to say "change your diet and exercise or die early". I was lucky. Charlie Adcock was not. If this message can convince just one of you guys to get straight. I encourage others to share stories about their friends that have had heart issues , especially other softball players. Get healthy for your kids, your wife, your friends and yourself. Love Ya All

Discussion: Charlie Adcock Passed Away

I have played against Charlie since 1998. He was a great player with a great attitude. I always looked forward to exchanging barbs w him and just talking trash at each other. I am shocked that he is gone. Heart attack at age 57. No previous signs or symptoms. Just Bang, and he's dead.

Hey Dave, this is Jackson Williams from the Pensacola Hitman. Moved up to the Alabama 55s for Winter Nationals. We beat Cobras, and Matadors in round robin, but then lost to both in double elim. We wanted a piece of you, but I guess you dodged that bullet. Congrats on Mobile. Heard that Wendell hit 30 for 33 or something and got MVP. See you in 2004.
