Discussion: Mike Macenko's Ultra 2's.......

Alan, that is great news. The Big cat bat is something else. I have had some players tell me they needed 40 or 50 swings to get their bat broke in. I have also had some players say that it has been hot right out of the wrapper. Then you are hitting bombs with the wrapper.

So I want to give some words of wisdom to the softball players. Bats are their own identity. Everyone. They are made the same but some might take longer to break them in than others. A great example is when someone just recently did some testing for that purpose. They took a bat with 120 swings on it and then hit a bat with no swings on it. The bat with no swings it hit the ball as far as the one that is broken in or should we say has some more swings on it.

The point I am trying to make it is don't give up on your bats. As I said the bat might hit great right out of the wrapper. You have to think to yourself if this hits this good while the bat is still stiff and no swings on it, just think how it is going to swing with 50 or more swings on it. Alan still had the wrapper on it.

My friend Billy Blake and Dave V. have put 600 swings on their bats before one broke. I think that is great because these men are strong hitters. So the key is just keep hitting the bats. Once the bats are broen in where the stiffness goes away and the sound changes then there is no telling what the Miken bats will do.

Good Luck..

Just a little note to the senior players. I will be in Loudoun County next weekend for the
ATLANTIC COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS. I will be at Potomack Lakes Sportsplex on Thursday and Friday and at
Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park on Saturday and Sunday. I will have a number of bats for sale. I will have my signature model from Miken available along with other senior bats. Looking forward to seeing a lot of friends and having some fun watching some games.

Lefty, you are right about Miken stepping up to the plate. They continue to work hard when developing the best bats in the business. I really like my white one as well. Can't wait until mine gets let out of it's cage. I have had a number of pre-orders already this season. Looking forward to hitting the bat. I appreciate the kind words on my health. Feel better everyday. Thank You.

I have been watching the play of the new White 2 piece and Billy Blake and Dave V. have been hitting their white one. They have right at 600 or more swings on theirs when it broke. Now these are strong hitters. ^600 is pretty good. Hoping that you can get more than that is depending on how you hit the ball. I should have one in my hands real soon. We will try the true test then. Thanks for asking.

Hey Alan, thank you for the kind words on my health. Have not forgot about the balls. I realized I put them in my shed. So as soon as I get them out of the shed they will be coming your way.

Working on the health still. It can only improve which is a great thing. The sun is out today. Yeah!

I know they are working hard to get it out. I am hoping to get it out by the end of the month. I am looking for two weeks. With the big end load it should hit some long balls. Thanks for the well wishes.

Everybody the latest and greatest Senior bat from Miken is right around the corner. The Mighty Mike Macenko Big Cat End Load is being put together right now. I am pre ordering the bats for $209.99. You can give Mike a call for some special pricing if pre ordered. The bat has a 1 oz. endload in it to have the heaviest end load in a senior bat today. The way the bat is designed because of the heavier end load it is going to give you more bat speed once you swing it.

Give Mike a call at 330-419-0205 or call call Anaconda Sports and ask for extension 115 for Frank Short.
I myself will try and answer all your questions about any Miken softball bats. I want to say that I am very lucky and very appreciative after my accident last winter. Can't wait for the weather to break so I can take some swings. Good Luck to all of the players men or woman in their softball games this year.

Lets have some fun this year!

Nice job. 600 swings is not bad. Dave did Billy hit any good? He hits it better as he gets older. Did it shark tooth bad or was it a smaller break. Thanks..

Hey Guys, I am sure there is talk about this and talk abouit that. I would take the advice from Ron Parnell. I know that Dave V has been hitting the bat with Billy Blake. If they are working on 407 swings then they are working on something that has been playing very well. Just have to keep working on it. They are getting closer.

Patty Mac is right,The heat does effect the Trump Stotes. The heat basically effects any ball when it is hot enough. The X-Rock still has the Microcell tech. That is why the ball will play whether it is cold or hot. After the SSUSA joined with LV senior softball you saw more and more X-Rocks. The core compression can drop 50 points if it is hot enough. I have done the testing for it before. I myself would ask for the X-Rock when it is extreme hot but that is just me. Directors buy what best fits their budget. Just my input on the situation..

The name of the store is called Classic Logo. The Rep was Barry Bloom. Their address is 2940 Del Prado Blvd S Cape Coral, FL 33904. Their phone is 239-945-8811 but for some reason it says the phone is not in order at this time. Hope this helps.

Alan, I wish I was coming down too. Need some sunny weather for sure. TOC is a great time. I like some of the extra things they do. They usually have a nice banquet either at the Airplane Museum or at the Winter Haven baseball stadium.. Nice way to start the year off. Hopefully the temps will be nice.

We will have someone at Lakeland also. We will have a Miken rep from a store in Florida that will be helping with sales also. I am usually there helping Frank but I am not able to make it there this year. Good luck to all of the teams. Should be an exciting time.

Just want to let the softball players know that Miken has come out with a T.O.C. bat special for this years tournament. It is a Limited Edition and Frank Short from Anaconda Sports will be selling them at the T.O.C. He will be swapping back and forth from Auburndale and Winter Haven. The bats come in a maxload and the sizing is 34/26, 34/27, 34/28, and 34/30. So if you get a chance stop by and see Frank. I actually did some hitting back in November in Florida with these bats and they play very well. So if you get a chance check them out.....

Discussion: What's the best bat for open tournaments?

So we don't get to out of control. Alan I disagree with you being the most knowledgeable person in senior softball or softball itself. I think I am a pretty knowledgeble person. Just remember there is other people that know as much as you do about softball. I am by far not trying to be shitty here. As a matter of fact I am your friend. Just slow down a little bit. Combats are great bats whether it be a Ambush, or Dirty.
