Discussion: Today's "super" bats

ok et dave........all senior bats are supposed to be rated the same as the old asa bats....1.20/1.21 bpf when tested(depends on which ball being used....47 for 1.20...44 for 1.21).....making all bats basically the same....the 44 and the 40 balls have a way higher severity index as hj has pointed out.....i play with the 52 ball in both senior and mens open....pitching and the infield....yes we get the occasional bad hop...but no serious injuries from the 52 ball...bumps and bruises......the ball while travel fairly good all yr here in tyler...with hr hitters hitting their hrs.....
crusher no secret bats needed....just use your senior bat...no need for a gorilla swing either......dave actually hits them out with an old easton asa bat of his.....red synergy......also uses his senior bats....the 52 ball doesn't care what bat you use.....hr hitters will hit hrs and base hitters won't.....

Discussion: What Became of 30+ Ounce Bats?

hey everyone....its not how fast you can swing....its the speed you have after ball contact is what you should be looking for....yes demarini did a video showing this.....he could dry swing all bats from 26-29 oz almost the same bat speed (95 mph)....but when he hit a ball....they all lost quite a bit of speed after contact.....the 26 oz had the best after contact speed so he said that would be the best to use for him.......he did also say that most big guys could use the heavier bats b/c of their strength......and not have to worry about the after contact speed....he said to look for the highest after ball contact speed you can get for the bat weight...and use that bat weight.....i have the video he did....

Discussion: Drum Roll thread closed ?

i don't see it as time saving with a 1-1 count...but lets help the pitcher out.....you say why....hey look at all the advantages the hitter has now a days.....rocket launchers for bats...with balls to use that are just as bad(micro-cell cheater balls)......how about we go to the 52-300 ball....less worry of serious damage to anyone....the ones with the big egos get to still hit their hrs....and no one gets killed.....now tell me what advantage does the pitcher......none....

yeah most likely....but they didn't give that option for some reason......must have a dumpster spell checker....LOL......didn't want me telling the truth....LOL....

hey oz......MLB is starting to use time constraints....batters not allowed out of the box....pitcher mound visits are under 30 seconds now....pitchers in the minor leagues pitchers have a 20 second clock to pitch.......and they are close to bringing it up to the majors....to speed up the game....
but i'm not for 1-1 count b/c of time use.....i want it b/c i don't think we need the full count for slow-pitch softball.....

oz..i don't think i said they were all alike......so now you want the pitcher to be predicable for the batter.....come on.....its slow pitch.....not fast pitch.....using a baseball count is not needed....3-2 full count is more than adequate....no need for the extra foul either.....

oz40 really....you think everyone takes it to the full count in u-trip....also in u-trip you get the extra foul...which is completely ridicules......go ahead and try to get a full count with a 1-1 count and no foul to have...when i'm pitching....really would love to see it......

we use the NX3 now for our asa mens league and senior league now(supply your own ball asa park 52 ball only).....we have had no prol what so ever with the tattoo ball whatever one we choose....we have used the evil but they don't last.....the NX3 does......very good ball......i also think we should inter-grate it (52 ball) into our senior tourney's.....

yep curty....dead on....ASA has been doing it for years now.....these babies waiting on their perfect pitch....come on.....lets ..let the pitcher be in the game....also i would like to see the height limits go away......its not if the batter doesn't know where the ball has to be for a strike.....it has to hit a mat.....

on the 52's you don't need to over swing....for that matter you don't need to gorilla swing on the other balls......

B.J. don't bother........like you have said it is a timing play....no force what so ever......run from 3rd scores as long as he has scored before the appeal at 2b has taken place.....

Discussion: Pitching machine

i had no problem getting mine to give a 8-12' arc with 50' distance.....just need to tinker with the settings.....pitch level at 5......power at 3.....seem to get the best arc and distance for me with 12" softballs.

Discussion: The Rock.

big cat the rock is a fake 44 ball....it was made to pass the compression test for the 44 ball...the comp is more like 450-500 psi underneath that soft exterior......was told this by someone who help build it......but hey our old ego's don't care.......

crap hit the wrong button....
DOKER on that second one there would be an out at third if appealed properly and since it would be just like a force out and run "would not" count unlike the timing play your trying to use for your answer....same as a runner not going to first on the base hit that supposedly brings in the winning run......

Discussion: effect of interference call by umpire

one....there doesn't need to be a throw for interference......also if it is called(for second scenario)the runners who are out...are the runner at second and the closet runner to home after that.....so the runner at third would also be out in the second play.....

personally i don't care about the prol that was had....i'm saying what could go wrong and that should be the reason for not allowing dup #'s........they actually had a little league team do something like that here in texas some yrs back....had 5 or 6 kids only hit by changing jersey's....really not sure how they got away with .....but they did for almost the whole game.......prevention is always better than having to do it later........
